About Niraj

  1. If you are able to gain console access to the switch you can use the sh post That will report any failed ports.
  2. Also if you are looking for a finance deal, then i would stay away from dealers offerings. Go to your bank and i am sure they will offer you a better deal, also shop around for a loan.
  3. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/events/aa740358.aspx#winservercrusader N
  4. I dont think it is to do with the account that ASP uses, because if you say this works from home over SSL then it will still be using the same ASP account to run the LDAP query. Im not 100% on this but something inside me thinks that when running LDAP queries via web server they need to be over HTTPS. Dont take my word for it though, i just remember reading something along them lines when i was looking to do something with PHP. Cheers N
  5. You can do this within HTML. In between the tags add the following This will reload the page every 5 mintues, the CONTENT is in seconds, so you can change this accordinly. HTH Cheers N
  6. The only problem with bitlocker at the moment is that it will only encrypt the system partition. If you have a setup with a C: and D: where users hold there info on the D then only C will be encrypted. This is hopefully going to be fixed in SP1 for Vista The other thing with bitlocker is that you have to extend the AD schema so that it can handle the users keys so that if ever the use was to forget there password there is a way to recover from this.

    Windows mobile

I am currently working with Windows Mobile devices. From what i can see, there is no way to lock the device down in the way that you are looking for. They are designed for Corporate use, so the only locking down is in the form of pin codes, authentication and if the device is lost. I have not found a way or some form of security policy that will enable you to disable things like bluetooth and not saving to the device, etc.
  8. Would that question not be better directed at the user forum provided by the site. Ive never used it, unless someone else on here has.
  9. yea the hub will work with a crossover.... not the best option though.... Im sure you can get a 4 port switch for around £20, but for a inbetween the hub will work
  10. This to me means that the ODBC connection has not been setup properly... I would start by looking there... Im not too up to date on the setup, but something to do with permissions maybe?
  11. I am in the same boat as you.... and like people have said you just have to dive in and get on with it. I have a machine at work, nothing special with ubuntu, and i understand your furtration with it sometimes, but it does get easier. I tend to just mess about from home, just SSH into the box and off you go. If you get stuck there is plenty of people on here that know *nix inside out, all you gotta do is fire the question.
