  2. This one has the new screenshots and version info
  3. WinAlpha is an application allowing you to enable or disable the local administrator account from the login screen. You configure the application and then you can deploy it on your network with your master password. Applications where WinAlpha could be useful: - When you are using Windows but unable the hide local accounts from the login screen. - You want to be able to login to the local admin account without a password on the account (but keep it disabled when not in use) - Family members pc's etc - Remote standalone PC's where the user would usually login with a non-admin account V1.03 improvements: - You can now set a custom password - New File Menu Pricing/Licensing: Free - please PM me if you would like to try this program out. 4. Program at Launch Incorrect Password Correct Password WinAlpha is a small utility I have created to enable the local administrator account. It means that you can disable the account on machines and only enable it when needed. You access WinAlpha by hitting shift 5 times at the login screen. The password is definied by you, and will be customised for each person (PM Me). If you are interested in testing this tool, please let me know.
  5. Just some general comments about the Windows 10 built-in Mail App + feel free to add more. I think it's good enough for most students. Staff may still want to use Outlook as it has the integrated Calendaring etc. The app is easy to use, however it does lack one thing. The ability to disable conversation view. I have done extensive testing and it's simply not possible. Image (Softpedia)
  6. I think ultraVNC is pretty decent. Free and can be customised/scripted etc. It's also been around a long time. There is also iTalc, i'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned as it's open source and free: iTALC
  7. Surface just for the fact they released a mass-deployment driver: TechNet Blogs
  8. What's your browser of choice? and... What do you pre-install/allow your users to use? Personally Chrome is such a resource hog that I'm moving back to Firefox. It seems to be a little more stable now then it was a few years back.
  9. Could you be a little more specific i.e. versions etc? and what's having issues ?
  10. Does edge support group policy (as it's an App from the store) ?
  11. Something that could work for you is the HP Stream 7 tablet. These have really good reviews and you could get three for the price of a single iPad Link. You could potentially populate the start screen and set it to auto-login. But it depends on how fixed you are on Apple, Caspar is supposed to be quite good: Enterprise Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV management | JAMF Software
  12. Which programs do you use (open source is better). Web Editing - Brackets - brackets.io (open source + x platform) Browsing - Firefox : mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/ Email: Airmail 2 (Mac App) iPhone Movies etc: Waltr (Mac App) Anything cool you guys are using?
  13. This is a good idea, let people get used to it/ask questions before deploying. Nice work.
  14. Did you know you could place an AUP on a mac before a user login? See: How to create a Login window banner in OS X Lion for info.
  15. Hi All, cheers for the help. Managed to solve this one using Diskpart and PE. Seems the compiler was just having an error which I managed to fix.
  16. Hi, I need a bootable USB which can mass partition about 350 laptops. I have tried using the WAIK to create a bootable PE image, but it keeps crashing out when unmounting the image using DISM. Are there any free/alternative options you can recommend? Thanks.

  18. To best honest, although theres a question of legitimacy here, it's also worth remembering that you'd be opening a can of worms here even if you did find a workaround. Before long you'd be doing it for all the departments, and you end up with a mess.
  19. Sorry, just wanted to make a poll
  20. Hi Mex, It may also be worth adjusting the machines power setting in general. Earlier this year we rolled out a new group policy to all staff managed machines which made them go to sleep after 45 minutes of non-use. We have around 6,000 members of staff and you can imagine the different hardware configurations. The way we go around this was to create a "no-sleep" group into which we placed any problematic machines, the group basically does what is says on the tin.
  21. Just wondering how many people have started using Office 2013? IT seems to be quite reliant upon Skydrive, has anyone integrated it with Sharepoint?
  22. I have dual-boot Windows 7 and Windows 8 (but not 8.1.... yet). I used Windows 7 for day to day work with RDP into Windows Server 2008.
  23. This appears that the issue may be caused by the computer sleeping, does the network card go into a power saving mode? At the University we experience this quite a lot where the network connection breaks or disconnects and this could cause the problem that you are describing here.
