Hi We have experienced a strange issue a couple of times recently and a further instance now. Basically, a user can open a document, edit it and then try and save it back to the network location (mapped drive) it came from. At this point they get an error message stating "Path does not exist". I have tried to resolve the issue by various methods and having checked the obvious, reimaged the computer to resolve the issue. I now have another user with the same issue except it is following her around. This hasn't happened on previous examples and I wondered if anyone else has come across this problem. Windows 7 Pro access hidden shares on WinSrv 2008R2. Access to the save location is granted via groups, not individuals and others not having the same issue. Frustratingly, you can browse on the computer to the offending location but cannot save there. Any help appreciated. Mex

Hi This message appears during the login sequence stating "You do not have permission to access Servername". It cannot be a permission issue, however, due to the fact from a different Mac I can access. This is to do with the homedrive on a Windows server. Thanks, Mex

Hi Greyskull, thanks for the response. The macs are in separate OU's under the same parent OU, so nothing strange there as far as I can see. Mex

Hi We have a strange issue where we have two suites of about ten Macs each, one Media, one Music. They all connect to AD via a Mac Mini server. At present I have a situation where the Media Macs login with AD credentials and map two shared drives and the users home drive. Great! My Music Macs have now started showing a "you do not have permission to access this server" error at login. The same user works fine in the Media suite. This has me somewhat puzzled as everything goes through the one server, permissions work OK for the Media Macs so in theory, permissions are the same for both suites. We use Workgroup Manager and all settings are the same for both suites. Server is running 10.8.4 and Macs are on 10.8.5. Any help appreciated.... Mex

Thanks for the response. The one thing we have done is to update network drivers for this very reason. I should have mentioned it, I guess. It didn't help. It's only one user and as we buy our computers in batches, i.e. with the same components and drivers, so not sure that is the issue. Having said that, I will check the power options for the NIC and see if I can stop it going to sleep. Thanks again, Mex

Hi I have one user with a strange problem. If her computer is locked and left for a while, on unlocking the computer on her return, her home drive is displaying the standard Windows folders, but anything she has created herself are not visible. They are still on the server, along the the Windows folders, but not visible after the computer lock. This doesn't happen if the computer is locked for a short time. U: drive is looking at the right location, permissions are all fine but the only solution at present is to log off and back on again. A bit frustrating and if anyone has any ideas as to the issue here, I would be pleased to hear from you! Mex
