I've used Zamzar - Free online file conversion which works quite well, depends on your needs though - that probably wouldn't be too good if you're wanting to do loads of files at a time!

It's definitely SP3 related, as it happens here too but only since we went to SP3 on machines. It's very sporadic so not a big thing, but is there a way round it other than removing SP3 entirely as I'm not willing to do that.

I have a potential issue and security flaw relating to non-domain computers connecting to the internet, but not being filtered through Websense. All machines are correctly routed through our ISA server, but they only seem to be filtered by Websense when they have the proxy details set in the browser, ie. by logging onto the domain. My question is how can I force ALL ISA internet traffic to be filtered by Websense? This is going to become more of an issue as my SMT are proposing installing wireless over the summer which the kids could connect to through their own laptops...

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm in the same boat... All internet traffic goes through the ISA server, but I need to make sure non-domain laptops are filtered through Websense, because at the moment they're not.

I am trying to set up a contact in Active Directory with the e-mail address 'enquiries@doman', but this needs to forward all mail to the school secretary. How would be the best way to set this up? I have created the contact, but unlike standard user accounts it doesn't have a forwarding address option (under delivery options usually) Any suggestions appreciated...

Thanks, that's how I've cured it for now - changed the GP so I could redirect the My Documents target manually...

Seems that my problem is the My Documents on the machine isn't picking up it's correct path. It is set through group policy to direct to \\server\blahblah\%username% but for whatever reason the affected users My Documents are pointing to the C:\documents & settings\%username% Also, there is no 'Find Target' button, even if I set the affected users as administrators... Any suggestions for how I can cure this?

This is the second time I've had this problem now, so any help would be appreciated. Basically all users home folders are set to local path, and documents stored on the server. But our deputy head's My Documents folder now appears empty after it was briefly disconnected to the server. Even though his files are still on the server there they will not show up on this local machine. I tried deleting his local profile so it recreated, but still the same issue. Any advice?

That works, but not ideal as I essentially have to add every user to deny them all.

Yes that's where the problem comes from, I've only got 2 users showing up there which should mean no-one else can access the calendar... But everyone still can

I have a bit of an issue with shared calendars in MS Outlook. The calendar in question is the headteacher's and should only be viewable by a select group of individuals. Problem is that anyone can see it simply by adding a shared calendar within Outlook and searching on his name. How can I lock the calendar down? There is a permissions tab on the calendar properties which only has the correct people listed, but still everyone can see it.

Hi, hopefully someone can help me here. I am quite a new (and inexperienced) techie, just taken on a new job in a private school. We have an ISA server installed, but direct internet access is still possible if the proxy settings aren't configured in a browser. Obviously the proxy settings are turned on through group policy, but if a student plugs their own laptop into the system they can access the internet directly, or if they user an alternative browser they can get around the ISA. How do I plug this security hole and stop direct internet access? Also I suspect that a couple of apps need direct access, such as we use online backup here from the main server, as well as SIMS might need it... Will this be a problem? Cheers for any help.
