That's a shame. Maybe an E-420 or E-450. Both available in the dual lens kit mentioned above, but without the articulating screen. I'm recommending these because they're small. They're also at your budget point. You should nip into Jessops, or similar and handle them and others.

You might consider an Olympus E-620, which is a relatively compact SLR camera that has the advantage of an articulating, or swiveling, screen. There is a dual lens kit which covers a good range from quite wide to quite tele. Currently on sale around £700.

I used the following to help me figure out why the finder was taking ages to become responsive on log in. Maybe it will help you: Create a new user (you may be stuck at this point if you can't access an admin account) Log in as new user run terminal run command: top -l 120 -n 5 -o cpu > top.txt Switch user to one that exhibits the problem Wait for aproximately 2 minutes before switching off Restart the machine and login as the new user Look at top.txt and see if it has identified a process that is hogging the processor Hope that provides some clues All the best.

I don't disagree that there are failings with SIMS. My issue here is with the continual hijacking of threads like this one and transforming them into something else. As a resource for those in schools trying to solve problems and run systems, threads such as these contribute a lot of noise and may (certainly in my case) prevent colleagues from posting for fear of provoking the ire of [insert system here] detractors and not getting the assistance they had hoped for from their visit.

Maybe they're revolting against the motivation behind the change request. If it was somebody who has been reading this thread, which was initially a request for assistance, they may be hacked off with its coercion into what appears now to be an argument and rather than being drawn into that, have expressed their distaste by voting against the proposal.

Hi, Editing dansguardian whitelists is not terribly difficult though. Your colleagues need to know which are the appropriate files, how to navigate to them and how to edit them correctly. I use mc sometimes and nano sometimes via ssh. mc is great for this kind of thing, because it's visual. I'm sure your colleagues will get the hang of it quickly. How will they restart the dansguardian service to reload the new lists? I don't know what gui service controls there are for Ubuntu, but typing /etc/init.d/dansguardian restart on the cli is pretty quick imo. Anyway, hope you have great success with your project.

I'm pretty sure they don't offer this, but Netsweeper is fairly versatile and you can (if I've read the manual correctly) ask Synetrix to create a new group - a range of IPs - which you can then apply separate filtering policies to.
