We use iBoss as well, in-line. As ADMaster said its a much more simple approach versus proxy'ing traffic. Overall I've been pleased with iBoss. Early 2016 we had some issues with SSL Decryption, but it was incredibly stable this past school year. Support has always been responsive and I've been very pleased with their Chromebook filtering. I especially love being able to dump my logs to SPLUNK. Over all its hard to beat the price point. Good bang for the buck.

From what I understand youtube education is dying. We have a GAFE domain and do all of our security and whitelisting through the admin console.

We moved from projectors to Promethean Active Panels this summer. Staff/Teachers/Students all love them.

THought that might be the case. My issue is i'm trying to use this as a way to centrally manage DHCP for our Chromebook Wireless Network. We run Ruckus so my next idea is to create a WLAN at each site dynamically assigned a particular VLAN ie 801,802,803... Then I would need to deploy said SSID to AP groups. I will probably just stick with distributed DHCP servers.

So I have a plan that in theory is supposed to work. Site A, B and C are setup with the proper IP Helper address. All three sites pull DHCP from their respect Scopes. However I start to see clients at Site A pulling DHCP from the Scope for Site B and C. I've attached an image. Thank you for any feedback. [ATTACH=CONFIG]29829[/ATTACH]

Windows NPS Radius + ZoneDirector, A How to guide. - Ruckus Wireless Forums This is what I do and it has been extremely effect and very flexible. I'm running 6 VLANs at each site. Gets a bit complex, but once you have NPS in place it gets easy fast.

I use it constantly. Amazingly powerful. Well worth it.

We have a handful of teachers using Classroom and none of them have seen anything like that. The API is supposed to be coming soon. I'm cautious optimistic that Classroom will open up a bit.

We moved from M86 to iBoss and I've been delighted with the move. iBoss is extremely flexible and the extras you get are quite impressive for the cost. They are constantly pushing out new features. The latest has been a Single Sign on for Chromebooks. I would be happy to speak with you further just PM me and we can setup something.

We use this and I absolutely love it. I have been able to slowly lock out Vimeo and YouTube. The ability to upload video is fantastic. The server re-encodes to formats compatible it every device. Teacher have really come on board as well. They create playlists and attach quiz and other documents to the videos. Very powerful and support is amazing. They will come onsite to install a demo system. Well worth kicking the tires.

How do you manage Java Updates? We have a Dell KACE appliance, but I am constantly told it can't be done automagically and must be a manually process. Or that its too complex and open browsers kill the install. Can't browsers be forced to close... Time and time again we end up with systems running 3 versions of Java. Who has a working process to handle Java? I know it can be done as there are 1000's of companies and Schools that use it. I am at the point where I am going to take over the duties of software updates. Being a network engineer I had hoped my sys admin would do this, but it is what it is. Thanks

Wanted to chime in with Ubiquiti Airfiber24 we are running 2 pair of these. 1 run is 8 Km running at 900Mbps even in crappy weather. The other is running at 12Km with 750Mbps drops to 650Mbps is crappy weather. Our crappy weather consists of Slushy Snow.

I vlan Wifi into different segments to control BYOD, Staff then students. I will probably expand soon. My feeling with VLANing is if you are comfortable then go for it. VLANing can provide some really nice control, but you do expand your config. I administrate about 200 switches procurve/enterasys. Just make sure to back up your configs.
