  1. We use Impero and we're very happy with it. Plus it has the feature that if you see a student on a website or app which is forbidden, you can block it from the console for the group or the whole Impero network. No having to switch over to Smoothwall or whatever and blocking it.
  2. We use a Dremel but trying to get a warranty replacement we found out that this invalidates the warranty. :-(
  3. This has started happening to us. Only on certain users, mainly teaching staff. Chrome works for a couple of minutes then becomes unresponsive for about 30 seconds then is accessible for a few clicks then unresponsive. When this happens it usually takes out IE as well. Uninstalled Sophos, moved OUs changed users and rebuilt the affected machines. Usually this cures it for a while but then back into the same cycle. There seems to be no particular pattern to which machines are affected other than it being a member of staff. There are no obvious suspects in the Staff group policies as apposed to the student.
  4. Thanks Windy Miller. 2018 and still having to do this. Heyho!
  5. Oh, I see. To be honest I didn't look at the dates I just saw fellow sufferers. ;-) Putting the ip address as an exception was Smoothwall's fix so I don't think that there will be solution coming from that quarter.
  6. Matt, Thread Zombie, that's a new one on me. No we're configured to go directly to the address above. I've put our support company on the case if they come up with the goods I'll post here.
  7. Thanks Gordan. That's the one address that I have been able to find and it doesn't work. Unfortunately our local SIMS support people were as much in the dark about this as me and Capita weren't forthcoming because our support contract isn't with them.
  8. Hi, having the same problem here. It seems to be our Smoothwall box that's causing the problem but the only way around is to put in an exception in the form of an i.p. address. Any clues as to the ip address of http://www.capitasolus.co.uk/CESAddress/?
  9. We have a similar problem with video files and because our ipads are managed when they are connected by USB they will not show any files. We have had to resort to Dropbox to get files off the devices. Another Apple workaround! Of course the problem with IOS devices of course is their lack of a useful file system so even if the app has created audio files you may not be able to find them.
