The quickest way to add the profile to all the users would be to open AD Users & Computers and go the the OU where your users are and then select them all and click 'Properties'. Then go along to 'Profile' and put the tick in the profile section and enter the profile path. For example \\server\staff\%username% , if you use the example using %username% put the users username into there profile path for you. You will need to repeat the above steps for each OU you have users in. Hope that helps you

Are you after roaming profiles? Each user has there own profile that is stored on a server and they pull that down everytime they log on. If so its extremely easy to set up.

Hi, I have work for a secondary school in Darlington that has just taken over a primary school's IT Support. We have just replaced all there servers and computers and now it's time to change the wireless config. The previous company that supported the school installed a 3com wx4400 wireless controller and we had no hand over from the other company. I need a way to edit the 3COM WX4400 config to change the authentication settings but I am unable to get into it. I know it's ip is 10.74.144.100 but I am unable to get onto a web interface (If there is one), unable to ssh onto it. I have managed to find 3Com Wireless manager software but I am unable to finished the installation of it as I am unable to get the activation key. Any help would be really appreciated.

At the school I work at we use sharepoint for out intranet/vle. It works well with easy to use for staff and students. We also use talmos from core education to get student data from cmis so there timetables and homework are all on the same page. All works very well together. Wouod be happy to provide a screenshot if you like

Hi, I have an update for you guy. I have finished the update feature so that now when a new feature comes out you can all get them straight away. Sorry for taking so long to update but i have rewritten the whole project from the ground again and it now stores printers into an xml files so that it dosnt need to check every time the pages loads and there is also a ajax script that keeps this xml file up to date with toner levels. Below is a Printer Manger V0.1 - I will release the code once i am back at work to test some stuff Do use like the new face lift? and do use like the idea of sorting all the data into an xml file?
-
Yeah I am still working on it, And I have hosting sorted, thanks to edutechhosting
-
I am still working on it, once it's done I will post it up for all to see
-
Do you guys know of any free or cheap hosting around here just I have an update function I will build into the script to bring all the latest goodies? Thanks for the clarification will knock it something up tomorrow
-
Just out of interest about how many printers will people be using this for totally? For example we have about 40. Also will use lot want to be able to have printers under different section like I have? Using a config file, hard coded. Or would people prefure a MySQL backend to this or would use all like it to run with just php and no MySQL needed. Just wanting to know as at the moment most of it is hard coded. Thanks
-
If you guys give me make and model numbers I will have a look at them tomorrow at work. And I will post the code up for it in a few days.
-
I will need to clean the code up, for others to use. What make printers are you's using?
-
What do you guys think of this? It's a php script that uses cURL to connect to the printers web pages to get how much toner is left for each printer.

If your trying to hide folders from other users you could enable Access-based emumeratiton, this makes it so that they can only see folders that they have access to, which would only be there Home Share.

Could you not just put the computing cources computers in a seprate OU in AD with a policy so they can run exe's. This way they can run anything but they should only be in the room when supervised.
