Yes in the run up to Christmas 2015 we had to wait a couple of weeks for a prime stick to arrive - I ended up with three or four months added to the subscription for free. I ordered a microSD card a couple of weeks ago which arrived not exactly as described. Filled the form out to return it and the reply was keep the item and we will refund. Must be more expensive than it is worth to process the return I'm guessing.

I've been using the home halo router for the last 18 months. It plugs into your normal router and provides a second wifi ssid. You can disable your normal ssid and it'll manage all your devices or as I've done run it side by side. It's got an app as you requested, but it is monthly subscription. Need to weigh this up against the electricity cost of a pc running 24/7 before my renewal.

Well I'll throw our experience into the hat...I signed seven primaries and our high school up to another three years over the last summer break. All the schools felt the service and price proved best value compared to some other companies. We monitor our internet connection with the dude. We upgraded to 200Mbit over a 1Gb barer over summer and we can happily hit 200Mbit if we like (three times this morning we've burst to that speed). We tend to hover around 70 these days with our normal browsing. In three and a half years Ican't remember our fibre going down - except on the upgrade. The majority of our primaries which have been on FTTC and now on EoFTTC and again, reliability of the connection has been excellent. We rarely need to speak with the service desk, but when we do they are helpful and ticket updates seem to come reasonably fast. There has been some very unlucky customers which were both hit by the filter11 issues and the fortinet issues which followed. They are understandably upset about the whole thing. We are on some of their oldest clusters and we've not had many issues to complain about. However SB have held their hands up and our investing in their infrastructure and investigating other ways to improve the reliability of those areas. If you're just looking for a pipe then schools broadband will be like any other reseller of a service I'd argue.

I've only had chance to play with the new featured for ten minutes or so but I'm really impressed so far. The remote management features have worked straight out of the box and I'm sure they'll be used all the time. I need to trigger a high alert and check the video - but that'll have to wait until the morning now. Thanks Al and please pass on our thanks to your team.

Cheers for this Andy. I know the HMI's are being trained (or have been over the last few months) in safeguarding technology and prevent. I know a few of the people who have been training them. Funnily enough when I worked there I was called into a meeting with the HMI in my first few weeks in IT. Again - the only time I've been directly involved with an inspection. It's funny. I was playing with an IoT type device the other week that had the same range applied - 11.11.11.100 I think it was set to. This address was also fixed in the android app which connected to it!

In the recovery section make sure the recoverable data is expanded and choose the domain, server and drive you are looking to recover from. Select the date and recovery time and use the path window to find the file or folder you are looking to recover. Right click or use the menu button to recover. It will show you the list of files and folders which you have selected in the wizard along with the date, time and source. Click next and you are asked whether you want to put it in its original location or somewhere else. Then you'll be asked whether you'd like to overwrite, make a copy or skip if it already exists. Check the security permissions and you should be good to go.

What is tripping - presumably an MCB? Or is it an RCD in which case it might be an earth leakage issue. They tend to get more sensitive with age - how old is the breaker? What else is on that ring main? If you're plugging in a trolley of laptops which all have low batteries they will demand the most current before tailing off as the cells reach their maximum charge. According to the info you've posted, you've got potentially 14x1.7 amps (23.8a) on a single 13 amp plug? Or have I missed something? MCBs are designed to protect the wiring in the wall and prevent fire. If 14 power supplies connected to 14 laptops with low batteries all fire up at once you're looking at a high draw as the caps fill up and then a sustained current. Typically the wiring on a ring main is rated for 26 amps (I think that's right - I know it's less than 32), but due to the fact it is a ring each socket is normally fed from two bits of cable so the theory is this is safe - unless the ring breaks. A 13 amp fuse will survive a decent over current for a short time, or a small over current for a long time (I've recently tested this). Personally - I'd test it in another area and take from that what I can - but ultimately a professional should be looking at it.

Us too. We were pushing 100Mbps through are connection most of yesterday but there was some packet loss. Hopefully the new port will even things out a bit. Excellent communication from Tom on the service desk liaising with us about a good time to move us over - thanks @SchoolsBroadband.

Have you got a log of how many times you've needed them to do anything? Unless you have a complicated setup of vlans I bet they've barely done anything since it was put in. By the way, procurves are covered under a lifetime warranty - no need to pay anyone else anything as long as you're the first owner. I'd echo what has been said. Take a bit of time out and look through a config (there may literally be nothing in it - or plenty which you can read up on). Edugeek is always on hand and you'll find a number of members who are confident in procurve configs (and others).
