Hi, following a hectic and troublesome two weeks where we have flattened the network and removed all the vlans to get a fresh start, I'm okay apart from the ability to access the core switch to delete the unnecessary vlans, amend the subnet mask and untag all the ports. I could do this prior to the 'reset' and can still telent all other switches onsite but this one has gone red in ProCurve Manager and no longer appears to reside on the IP address it had before. I've been googling and searching forums trying to locate any reference to its default IP address, much like a router is 192.168.0.1, etc. but to no avail. Anyone able to help me get back in touch with my core? PS connected my laptop via USB adaptor to the switch (used this before it was 'reset') Thanks

We moved to SB on 1st November. We've had numerous issues including having to redefine our school network to match their WAN, i.e. restricted as to how many IP addresses we can have. Changes to subnets on all servers, switches, wireless, printers, etc. (the latter are still ongoing) has caused complete mayhem this past week! As of today, SB have just 'fixed' the GPO which sends out the agent to all machines so hoping Internet will be restored shortly although I am still unable to access the 'allowed sites'. Also lost remote access through changing external IP addresses. Remote access worked for two days but failed ever since! Only just finding the time to bitch about the shoddy setup and breathe....... but we are still a long way from happy here.

Hi, it fails at 70% on three machines. It's after the restart and before installing the applications. It seems to have an issue with the boot disk (hard drive). I've then gone on to manually install the applications so I can put it back in service but after a reboot it logs on as local administrator as if it's going to continue with MDT... but it doesn't.

I'm using the same computer name they already had, i.e. 6LZ-17 for 6th form learning zone machine number 17

Staff laptops are not on the domain. They have a local admin account to logon to their laptop. They are presented with a number of desktop icons (shortcuts) to access their home and shared drives, SIMS, printers, etc. When they first click on an icon it wants to authenticate them to the domain (fair enough). They have to do that with each separate icon. I'm looking for one icon (scripted perhaps) which will authenticate them to all of these domain based resources.

Hi Every man and his dog has a laptop here (rather than desktops) so.... the staff laptops are standalone devices which have a local admin account to gain access to the dekstop. The desktop has a number of shortcut icons to various applications, printers, network drives, SIMS, etc. At the moment, the teacher has to log in to each shortcut separately (although they are all basically on the same network domain) and I want to provide a one-stop shortcut to authenticate themselves against the domain in order to reduce the hassle (for them and IT support). Ideally, one pop-up window appears where they can enter their network username and password. Any ideas please?

I've got 3 machines out of 32 that are failing to complete their rebuild using MDT. They get to about 65-70% then just sit as running. The computers are ready to login but without all the software deployed. My attempts to restart the process or even to start again are getting me no where. I've even put new flash drives in to get a fresh start but they hang at the same point. Any thoughts please?

It doesn't appear to be the root cause of not being able to scan documents to a folder...... that was an authentication change!

Thanks for the many views but does anyone have any suggestions? PS - I've already rebooted a couple of times LOL

On our print server (hosting Xerox MDF's) this service will not start and therefore staff are unable to scan to a network folder. Any ideas as to how this can be resolved please?

Sharepoint 2010 Any specific service to check? -
I've moved the sharepoint server hosting our Intranet to another host in order to free up some space on the source host. It's moved okay and I can log on to the server but the Intranet is not accessible (HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.) I've checked that the IP address has remained the same. What else needs checking/started?

It's got an ethernet port so it's connected to the network.

It didn't give me an option to specify where the .wim should go and it's not in Captures?

I have an HP Mini from a local school which I want to capture an image from in order to deploy that same image to 30 HP Mini's from our own stock as we are providing them to the local school. I'm using the same deployment share that holds the 32-bit drivers and OS which were originally deployed to our HP Mini's. I've created a Task Sequence to allegedly capture the image. I've run the LiteTouch.vbs script on the HP Mini I wish to capture however, although I can see it has created files in the Control folder, it doesn't appear to create a .WIM file anywhere. I've been trawling EduGeek and Spiceworks and reading various "how-to's" but I still don't get it.... Where do I go from here please?

Struggling to locate and import the necessary drivers to support the "Network Controller" when using MDT to build the new device. I've downloaded and imported all that are listed on Novatech A15YA/FD Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP but with no lock! Any ideas please? Thanks

Help with installation command for Algodoo in MDT
winng replied to winng's topic in Educational Software
Yes, this has worked for me too. I've copied it to a \\server\apps and shared the shortcut to the Start Menu and all working okay. Thanks -
What is the correct installation command to ensure Algodoo will install without any user intervention? I have tried \\server\software\algodoo\algodoo_2_1_0-Win32.exe /qn /s /norestart but it sits waiting for Run, etc. Thanks for your help.
