A long over due spend is on the verge of being sanctioned. I will be interested in quotes for the following hardware 14 x Promethean ACTIVboard+2 78" & projector including fitting 9 x 24 port HP 10/100mb procurve switches (fanless) 2512 or similar 2 x 48 port HP 10/100mb procurve switches 2650 equivilant 12 x Hp procurve mini GBIC sx-lc 145 laptops key features battery life as long a possible 3hrs, durable, 3yr warranty NBD, boot order lockable unlike the toshiba's purchased in the past, , wifi cards G standard, not celerons, 2gb ram price per unit budget is £450 130 pcs dual core (not celeron) 2gb ram, hdd 100gb sufficient, dvd rom sufficient, 19"tft vdu's - minimum 3-5 yr NBD warranty (need to be eco friendly ie more efficient psu) budget £440 These are approx quantities of what i have been asked to price up. I am looking for hardware that is more energy efficient as they should start paying back for them selves by saving on electricity costs and reducing carbon footprint. Finally to compliment the wireless laptops a wireless access points & installation based on the ruckus gear ruckus 2000 series g APS = 43 Zonedirector 1050 = 50ap licence Power over Ethernet switches 24port = 7 thx

every year around this time we get a large number of calls for staff who would like the new staff emails added to their outlook contacts. We do not have an exchange server and all staff have office 2003 installed. I add the new staff to a csv file i created that is compatible with outlook 2003. what i need the script to do is delete any emails contacts that end with @abc.co.uk and then adds the contacts that are in the csv file. I bought a load of vb books two years ago, however last year i develop severve RSI thus cannot make full use of the books i invested in. Many thanks

i am trying to create a import file for moodle. I have been able to import users in bulk but now the request is to import class & teacher info What i am trying to achieve is each pupil have their class, teacher and subject appear on one row and in order eg forename, surname, class, teacher, subjectcode, class, teacher, subjectcode, class, teacher, subjectcode, I have looked at the transpose special paste option but that just moves each line in the clipboard to a seperate row thanks TRANSPOSE.xls

just to add, sharepoint designer 2007 (free microsoft application) may be useful. I am working on the same project too. Managed to get the calendar on line in sharepoint. Was then asked why it could not be printed to one page! I had to use designer 2007 to reformat the printpage. Looking to use the feature that allows staff to log requests (for ICT job logging) and get an alert via email using outlook once we have signed it off. (proactive approach!) Using the wiki for intranet purposes, what, where and how (this will stop a lot of the support calls like where can i scan something or where can i find a A3 laser printer! how many printer credits do i get etc).

Moodle site redirection issue
projector1 replied to projector1's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
thanks for the reponse, any idea of the location of the file to replace? Would it be a .php file as it is running apache. thanks update in the folder C:\wamp\www i renamed the index.php file to .old and create a index.html file with the syntax above. It has resolved the issue. Many thanks for your help. -
I have a moodle system that runs on wamp. The site is accessible via http://ipaddress/moodle. I am looking for way to redirect http://ipaddress to http://ipaddress/moodle. At the moment when you type in http://ipaddress you are directed to the wamp server config page. thanks

do you have preference to which brand of tapes you use?

We have been looking at this for while now and one of the products we looked at was the axstor hardware. One of their products was reviewed in pc pro. "The World's Fastest iSCSI solutions". I know sunderland city council rolled out a 96TB storage solution. Might be worth a look

i am absolutelly shocked by this, was not even aware of it. Just spoken about it to SLT, they say as we are a self governed school we do not have to go with it. First the news about single status, now this, i am going complete my mcse and then review what my next step will be. I simply like many of you cannot afford to not know where we stand and with a mortgage, etc. Not comfortable at all with all this.
-
Glad your SLT gets involved in ICT based issues. I think i will ride the storm and let printing continue the way it does. We do use Pcounter for print management. However as much as i want the pupils to get the best possible grades, costs for running the IT side of the school have to maintained, school are own running infastructures that rival many commerce setups.
