  1. Hi James, Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind Yes we do, but this is the first instance of this sort and made complicated by other matters. I might drop you a line if that's alright?
  2. Thanks for that quick response, i forget about this place sometimes and that was a hell of a lot quicker than trying to get anything concrete out of official channels!
  3. I'm slightly annoyed about the seemingly random nature of Microsofts update plan for the o365 platform. We've got a school almost ready to roll out but don't want to until the refresh has happened. All I can get from Microsoft is that it's scheduled sometime within the month 'probably' and they will be notified a month in advance etc. They have been told however that all new signups are getting the latest version (wave 15) off the bat so are now talking about starting totally from scratch. At this point it may be our quickest option so I was just hoping to confirm that this is the case with new installs before we go starting again with nothing. Thanks,
  4. The latest and greatest is that this week some of their switches blew and 32 schools across London were left without internet. Nice Infrastructure. I seem to be having an issue with their Outlook Profiles for user downloaded via the staffmail support. Seems to be struggling to authenticate and once they're all set up some users are only getting partial downloads, some are getting it all but everytime they close outlook it loses the password settings. Some sites on 2010 just refuse to authenticate altogether when trying to find the exchange servers, Anyone else getting this? Worked find before the changeover and recent issues...
  5. I tried this as i'd got past the exception error so i thought and started getting this: [ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.] System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource) +52 System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add) +9375355 System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Add(TKey key, TValue value) +11 HAP.Web.Configuration.LinkGroups..ctor(XmlDocument& doc) +390 HAP.Web.Configuration.Homepage.get_Groups() +56 HAP.Web.Default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) +6740 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +91 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +74 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +2207 Alas, after applying the update above, and having tried with different users / clearing cache etc, still getting the above error.
  6. Hi Nick, sorry for the delay. My bindings are identical to yours pictured in the new thread, onkly difference is at the moment we're using self signed certificates until I get round to getting a batch from startSSL. Will try the fix you've detailed and post the relevant info in the new thread. Thanks again.
  7. Just to weigh in on this, just done 4 fresh installs of 7.6.1031 , using IIS7, got them all setup with shares and working fine externally last week. Go back today and logging in is fine, browsing about through shares is fine, but trying to edit the config in any way now throws up the aforementioned error box: System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException and I can't make any changes. Does the wildcard mapping apply to IIS7 in any way shape or form?
  8. After a lot of troubleshooting it turned out that this only affected 32 bit servers, and that downgrading IE from 8 or 9 back to 7 fixed the issue as ridiculous as it seems. Must be something to do with the way newer versions utilise the .net framework. We did this on 4 /5 different sites and the result was identical, so just thought I'd add it here in case anyone in the future has similar issues.
  9. Hi all, Is there anyway to get HAP+ running on .net framework 3.5 for its application pool instead or does it have to be 4? At all of our sites we've come across a major issue in that installing .net framework 4 and the security updates stops Sophos Enterprise Admin Console (the latest London grid version, 9.7) from running, and although my investigation lead me to believe these should all run independently of each other, the only way we've been able to restore Sophos' functionality is by removing .net framework 4. Obviously this is primarily a Sophos being out of date issue but it totally cripples my planned roll out of HAP, so I was wondering is it possible to get it going on .net 3.5 or is there an older version (6?) that will work? Or if anyone else has had similar problems and has any advice for getting HAP+ and Sophos working side by side that'd be great.
  10. I'm doing a second install this morning, one was 7.2 which worked ok, but decided to do a 7.4 from scratch and am getting this same error when trying to edit either of the two email options. Had a quick look through the config files but nothing jumps out at me. Edit: Adding in the items via the XML works ok, they show up in setup, but not once logged in it seems. Re-Edit: Same problem with the drive mapping.
  11. Thanks for that Nick, looks promising. I've got another 6-7 sites to set it up at so will definitely give that method a try once I'm past the initial stages.
  12. Thanks guys. Alas our LEA doesn't exist as such any more, and I have looked at various IIS references , technet etc but am not having much luck. Looking at redirecting a default site / having an intranet setup in DNS to point to it but still no joy. Will keep trying!
  13. Many thanks for the rapid response. Seems to have worked perfectly! Great little program.
  14. Hi, like Fiza we are running AUP informant 2.1 and have pushed it out to clients, I need to reset the database though ready for monday so that when people log in they all see and have to accept the policy, a few of them have been done already as part of a test so currently won't see it again due to the settings. Is there anyway to totally reset the acceptance information and start again without deleting the database? If the database is deleted will it miss up the sql instance?
  15. Hi all, apologies in advance if this seems a stupid question, alas I've searched around a fair bit for solutions and have become bogged down in documentation with no real semblance of due process seemingly clear to me... I have been tasked with setting up HAP on a new school server running Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit, IIS 7.5 etc. I'd not come across it before, and haven't really dealt with IIS much , certainly not recently but followed the guides, the video, noted the hotfixes etc and so at this point HAP is installed on the server correctly and running, with links to mail setup, AD groups added and some work done on shares etc by intially pointing the url to localhost/hap/setup.aspx and completing the setup. Problem is now the guide is done with I'm struggling with the next steps. The school has a website but is managed elsewhere, and they used to have RM easylink set up on the old server but again there is no access to this so the crux of the question is where do I go from here to set it up so that users can access it from outside the school. I've started looking into DNS Zones, and SSL and certification and what not but there's so much documentation about I can't seem to find a definitive way to proceed. Can I do it without having it bound to a site? Or am I going to have to use something like Easylink to set up folders and a URL? It's no longer an RM network so am hoping to find a simple vanilla Windows way round it all. (Yes, I know.. simple and windows..), but if anyone can point me to a guide that might make it easier to fathom (I have been coming across a lot of articles about setting up Intranet / extranet sites and am wondering if this is relevant) it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
