yes. do you have a Supportnet account? see the thread "Update missing from Repository" in the forum. there doesn't appear to be a quick fix.

understood and apologies.

-
I thought it was an internal-only tool.

is anyone else in a position to test the WAV - web address validation service is SIMS please? I am aware of this https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/solus2-wav-bav-server-upgrade/ but the WAV is failing at all our supported schools at the moment. The LA level filtering has been updated to include ALLOW rules for all the new addresses.

I have Centrastage monitors on the Discover Data Transfer and Discover Group Sync services so if they ever stop, we get a warning email. great. But how are you monitoring whether or not group changes are coming through to SIMS successfully- it appears the services can be running fine, but any number of other issues still stop groups from updating. I had an issue with the scheduled tasks not running because of reported permissions problem- the solution was to export the tasks to xml and re-import. all working now, but there's 6 months of missing statistics. Another recent problem - the script to upgrade the Discover DB to 164 from 162 was crashing out because of an issue with the DAC framework. 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dac.DacPackage' - I ended up migrating all DBs to a SQL2014 instance to get the DB upgrading.

no matter- teachers coming through now after I changed the "SIMS services manager" service logon from NETWORK SERVICE to an AD administrator account that has administrator rights to the SIMS2012 instance. -

[sims] SIMS Teacher App - (how) are you supporting it?
divadiow replied to divadiow's topic in MIS Systems
OK. that's fine. It's just *another* thing that is assumed we'll stretch to cover. However small the amount of support and time it needs, it's still an additional. -
Bearing in mind there's no kick-back for local support teams are you ... swallowing the support this new additional will require? charging on top of your SLA to support Teacher App? not supporting it at all? self-setup, easy config wishful thinking aside, it will require support from the LA team. How is everyone else dealing with this?

Yes. reactively deploying to users who've reported the issue. user will be told Sims needs to be closed or will be closed -
[sims] Microsoft Security Patch causing issues with SIMS7 Date Picker

good thinking. copied and turned into Centrastage component that kills pulsar.exe and copies the patched files to progfiles\sims\sims.net or progfilesx86\sims\sims.net depending on the OS. -

are you all just using the VB script to create the object and link it at the top level or are you importing the certificate into the Default Domain Policy? I know it doesn't matter, but I cant make up my mind what I prefer for neatness across existing installs and automated builds to come
