The minimum is set in the green book if your are employed by LA or the school follows the LA/local goverment agreement. This may be the minimum you may and likely to have more if unions locally have negotiated it. Russ

RM Tutor 4 & 3 are only allowed to run on cc3/cc4 hence why the pricing is so good. Nothing technically stopping you running it but you would not licensed. The deal is like with symantec good pricing as long as they do not take other education customers only RM ones. Russ

No rm will sell a primary system to primary tech scheme or no tech scheme. They do have primary tech scheme but will sell an rm system to someone not on it. Mainly aimed at those who support multiple schools.

One ideas behind the whole academy scheme is that they can try things like this out... To be honest I do think this good idea and will be watching this closley now off to see who I know up there to see if I can get to talk to them about the idea. Russ

Having do some reading on the SA SAMS project and looking through number of goverment documents on it that are hidden away. Think can break this down to: - You don't have to have it if got something in place (but I suspect there is lot of political pressure to have it). The government identified at start of project few years ago there is a number of schools for example where electricity for example was a major issue. They would look at funding to deal with that (I am not sure if that has come through as can not see anything). As part of pilot and I assume extended into main roll out a number of 'experts' were employed to help schools and states get it installed but an issue found was some heads wouldn't allow them to install the software. So in terms of support it seems very erratic as to what support schools are getting. Russ Edit: Also it should link into two other projects the government learning tracking software (name escapes me) and state wide database system called I believe CMIS (no not that one) Russ

Sorry that depends on skill of person currently employed. Also need to think about what happens in you leave etc as this is primary school this different kettle of fish to secondary school where might be more than one person in IT support department. RM Support is very good and first line is just that they take your call log it and put you straight on to next line. As for CC4 my advice I have given is this general rule new CC4 sites aka ones that are not cc3 upgrades work well. So even if cc3 network I suggest it is done as part of a new server aka run two side by side. The point was made comparing with a vanilla is good one as everybody home grown solution will be different. As for if should go for RM or not well enough threads on that subject to last a life time. I would just say the same point I made in the pass it is "what is good for the school". So what is good for my school is not good for your school etc. Also please note I said school and not me whatever our own views of the software and the conceived lack of flexibility is irrelevant. I think best thing is to look at this way no one is saying you can't do it but what you need to think is how it is going to viewed by other people who decide if you get a pay rise. As this extreme case of someone being suspended what I am thinking is those who for example go for pay rise... what you think if you get a pay rise is based purely on how you work performance is errm sorry this is welcome sign that says "Welcome to the real world" Wrongly or rightly pay is decided on politics and then your work.
