It seems that I have inherited someone else's problem... a dozen or so members of staff have all been sharing 1 Apple ID on their school iPads, meaning that there may be more installations of apps than have been paid for. How can I see how many devices a particular app has been installed on by the Apple ID? I've already removed the payment method from the Apple ID to prevent the problem escalating.

Thanks for posting that, Arthur. Does anyone know if the improved MDM process will require anything other than free updates on the server? All we need now is for Apple to release iOS7 and the related management tools before September so we have time to implement it before the new term starts!

Sorry to ask what is potentially a silly question, but what is MDM? I know it's Mobile Device Management, but are you referring to a particular product? My own school already has quite a few iPod Touches and iPad 2's so I have become familiar with the iPhone Configuration Utility, but we'll soon be getting many more iPads so I'd like to know what your alternative is. I'm particularly interested in syncing content (books, music, podcasts) OTA, as well as apps.
