I am not a lover of stacked switches myself, we had Netgear GS724TS switches here and I had them stacked initially as it was relatively easy as they use a HDMI cable, but what I found was that pretty much any maintenance or upgrading of their firmwares requires you to break the stack and reboot the switches. Also if one of the switches in the stack crashes as we had happen, it takes out the entire set for you with no redundancy. Do you have both virtual switches on each server named the same ? Also do you have two sets of network adapters with the same IP ranges and gateways in the machine thats dropping the connection, windows caused issues with that with me before when that was the case.

Dont be afraid to try a different cable too, I have had lots of Samsung devices given to me to look at lately and its been a broken cable for 4 of the 5 of them. Try a diff one that you know works and leave it plugged in if the battery has gone "Super Dead" on it.

I know I have made the right choice for me, I have been horribly burnt out in game for about 3 years, Guild management did that to me and I couldnt face raiding after my old raiding guild disbanded after our MT quit, I realised it was pretty miserable as you spend your online time dealing with members whines and breaking down boss fights to the simplest of terms for the less skilled people in your guilds, wipe nights are not fun nights. Now the game has gone too far in the other direction with the casualness, its harmed guilds and made them a little pointless. LFR made the game accessible in all fairness, but at the massive costs to the social side of the game. I feel great for uninstalling it, that was a first for me in the entire time since its been on a PC of mine and I actually don't miss playing it like I did last time, in fact the thought of it is horrifying

I used to be like it in my youth wanting gadgets as they came out for no real reason, these days though its a case of "Why do I want it" and "Do I have something already which does that same function" so I rarely fork out for things. My only real luxury is my rMBP and my iPhone 6+ here these days technology wise, the phone has made the ipad mini I have a little redundant. I didnt get the Apple Watch based on that recently as I already have a nice watch and couldnt justify spending that kind of money on a watch, my only major computer purchase over the last 10 years - since I have been with my wife (items over £100 at a time when something has broken and never bought any top level/bleeding edge tech) has been my rMBP, that was only because it looks as though I am going to have to "lose" my little office at home and I think I have outgrown gaming now too.

unsubbed about 2 months back here for good this time (actually uninstalled it off Mac and PC too), basically stuck in a boring rut running LFR with my hunter, who was max geared for that level, wasnt paying a sub for a game where I spent the rest of the time trying to get transmog sets for my alts. We use Veeam B+R here for all our VMs and it works a treat, recently had to use its restore function for the first time too after a debacle with AV being mistakenly installed onto our host nodes and that worked flawlessly

I think you will find a lot of places specify for professional qualifications these days in IT to get good wage jobs outside of entry level stuff, I see a lot of them wanting MCSE/A/MCITP CCNA/CompTIA/VCP as "desirable" though you will get people who look at your CVs which I think is better, as experience is a better indicator and working in majority of schools it seems that we have access to the technology at the cutting edge, with things like EES agreements but its a case of not massive amounts of professional development being offered, especially as the courses cost a fair bit of money and your already proving your working with the technology to your employers (not always the case I agree).
