I'm doing the same sort of task. It's taken weeks if not months to get any of our 'teachers' to even look at what software they need. Sadly some of the most awkward ones are still required.

Was 30 in June and am proud to have never owned a car. Just been lucky to enough to always find jobs within walking/cycling distance. I reckon I save £x000s a year.

Hi, Not as simple as you might think, as HDMI can carry a copy protected signal (HDCP). If you try and interfere with the signal path (by converting it to VGA) then it *might* stop working. The HDMI spec says it should, but some manufacturers realise that it's a bit silly so don't implement this. At my place, we're using the Kanex ATV pro with the AppleTV v3 with some success. For some reason I can't fathom, everything works except full screen YouTube clips streamed from an iPad. The resolution is negotiated by the HDMI protocol depending on the endpoints. I've recently relocated to York, UK (having taken a couple of years away from full-time IT work as a career break to develop other skills). I'm now looking to return to a role in full time IT. I wonder if anyone can offer tips to find something appropriate? The sort of job titles I'm looking for might be Systems administrator, IT officer, Network manager or IT manager. I consider myself someone who is very flexible and ready to get stuck into any technological problem. My skills include Microsoft Server 2003, Microsoft server 2008, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 2003, Linux, Mac OS, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Network hardware, TCP/IP. In addition to technical skills I've spent some time in managing and leadership roles within work and voluntary environments. I'm committed to developing all aspects of myself, and I'm currently studying a masters in Technology Management with the Open University. My previous experience is mainly within the higher education sector, so I'd be very comfortable in any educational or not-for-profit organisation (I'm very willing to consider other sectors!) Although I do have a full driving license, I don't currently have access to a car, so I'd prefer to find somewhere in York, or commutable by public transport. Thanks in advance!
