  1. Hello all. I am a computer technician in Thomaston, GA. I have been there for about 6 years now. I am responsible for 4 locations: My office is at North Elementary (4th - 5th grade), the Board of Education Office, Alternative School, and Pre-K. At north we have 4 computer labs, with an Activ Board in every classroom. We also have and Activ Board in ever classroom in our district. All our servers are located at the BOE office. Last year we migrated from a Windows NT network to a Windows 2003 AD Domain. I like it sooooo much better!!! Look forward to talking to you all!!
  2. We are using the Aironet 1200 and we love them. We have them installed in the cellings, so if you are in a classroom that has a access point, you do not even know it. We have 20 of them and they give wireless access no matter where you are in the school. They also are PoE (power over ethernet) so you do not have to worry about hanging extension cords from the cellings (Not that any of us have done that LOL).
  3. We had this same problem. A tech from Pro. came to our schools. He said that there was a conflict with some versions of Activ Studio and certain versions of drivers. I will see if I can find the info if you are still intrested.
  4. I am not to sure how familiar with Active Directory you are so I am just going to cover some basics here. When you open Active Directory Users and Computers, any computers that you have joined to the domain, will be listed under computers and you will have to make Org. Units and drag the computers into them. After typing all this, I might have misunderstand your question. Do you remember the error you got when you installed Windows 2003 admin pack?
  5. Hmm... I might be able to help you if you can clear up a few things for me. I will probably feel stupid once you tell me.... What do you mean you are using ABE to control the display of the icons? Is ABE a type of security software? By the way I am a computer technician at an elementary school. We are using AD and have Activ Boards in every classroom.

    Disable SUS

It depends on how the client computers are configured. If you have Active Directory then just change the Windows Update policy. If you went to each computer and configured it, then you will probably need to go to each computer and undo the change you made. If I can be of anyhelp please let me know As mentioned above you could just turn the server off. LOL Then you might have grumpy users. Brandon
