well here i am in April 2025, had a support ticket opened for over a week about cloud filter not working, and nothing from support. Ive been with smoothwall for over 10 years now, but the support is dreadful, obviously still no difference nearly a year on

Thanks Everyone Ive got this sorted now, seems there was some old profiles on the terminal server not being updated, had some old proxy settings in, wasnt apparent as the users still had internet access, once i deleted the user profiles off the terminal server all is good. Doesn't help that FMS seems to do a daily check so once it says invalid key you're stuck until the next day.

No, once it says its invalid it wont accept the key. I logged on as myself to the terminal server and had the finance officer logon to to FMS, key was valid, as soon as i had her log on to the terminal server as herself, same thing, popup asking for the eligibility key and then it says invalid. I will now have to wait until tomorrow for the key to say valid again, as it seems to right itself overnight, it must do a daily check in on the ess server. Unless anyone knows a way to trigger the eligibility key check, its like i have one chance to troubleshoot this a day. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. Ive logged in this morning and it was now saying the key is Valid. This is a terminal server ive had a couple of members of staff open fms (installed locally on their machines) and it still said valid however the strange thing is, when our finance officer logs into the same terminal server as me and runs FMS it changed to invalid for everyone, so it looks like the key is being overwritten somehow from her profile? any ideas how this could be happening? I suspect the eligibility key does a daily check to see if it is still valid

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue Just before Easter our FMS server started complaining that the key was invalid, i contacted ESS who provided me a key that worked initially, then it started complaining agian this week that the key was invalid, ESS the generated a new key for me, but when i tried to apply it, i get an error saying the key is not valid for FMS6. I have whitelisted https://licenses.sims.co.uk and i can successfully telnet to the address from the server, i am stumped. Thanks

Hi all I have the azure directory working and synced on smoothwall, i have mapped azure groups with local groups, i have deployed the edge browser settings to a client, the edge extension is installed, however when i go to the diagnostics page on the client, it shows that the local groups are empty and the group mapping is set to "Default user" Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the replies guys, i did speak to veam, it seems the product is in beta at the moment and they have no idea what the costing will be. i also got a quote from code2, it was quote reasonable to be fair. Has anyone had any experience using either the litigation hold or the in place hold as a back up?
