HELP!! Can't export to PST anymore - Exchange 2007 SP3
mo_vigilante replied to mo_vigilante's topic in Enterprise Software
I've checked this and it isn't inherited any deny permissions. I've created a test admin account and made the account a member of domain admins and also tried this - same error message. Thanks. -
HELP!! Can't export to PST anymore - Exchange 2007 SP3
mo_vigilante replied to mo_vigilante's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi, I've created a new test account in a new test OU and new email address in that new AD object. Sent a few emails back and forth (internal and external). Added the admin permission fine with the cmdlet but same error message happens with exporting the mailbox and when I ran the -verbose command at the end as well - it brings up the same error message at the same point on the existing mailboxes I tried to export. Any other ideas? -

HELP!! Can't export to PST anymore - Exchange 2007 SP3

Anyone else got any ideas? I tried exporting to a folder on desktop with same permissions and still doesn't export. I find it random now all of a sudden it doesn't work - the only thing I can think of is updates on the client machine where I'm running the cmdlet. Thanks. Mo -
HELP!! Can't export to PST anymore - Exchange 2007 SP3

Hi, I ran verbose at the end of the export command and first it confirms whether we want to perform this action as it normally does and the following comes up with the following: - VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : Ending processing VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : The operation has started. VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : Initializing MAPI, loading library. VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : Approving object. VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : Logging on to the MAPI profile. VERBOSE: Export-Mailbox : Opening exchange mailbox. Then it comes up with thebelow message: - "Export-Mailbox : Error was found for because: Error occurred in the step: Approving object. An unknown error has occurred., error code -2147221233 At line:1 char:15" Double checked permissions and the admin definitely has FULL PERMISSIONS to the users mailbox. Also checked the spelling and everything is correct to what I used to do so anything else I'm missing? Thanks. Mo -
Hi all, I used to be able to export mailboxes succesfully to a PST file for backup/auditing reasons when staff leave organisation so I can tidy up the database. However, it's not allowing me to do this anymore and I haven't changed anything from the server end or the client end where I'm running the remote admins tools on a 32-bit computer (Win 7 SP1). I'm using the below cmdlet to first add permission to the user's mailbox "Add-MailboxPermission -Identity -User Administrator -AccessRights FullAccess" And after this I use the below cmdlet to export the mailbox "Export-Mailbox -Identity -PSTFolderPath C:\PST\.pst I had no problems at all with the above method in the past and suddenly brings up the folloiwng error message: - "Export-Mailbox : Error was found for because: Error occurred in the step: Approving Object. An unknown error has occurred., error code -2147221233" I'm making sure I'm running the Exchange Shell 'As Administrator' and ensuring the folder where I want to export to has correct permissions. Anyone have any ideas? We're running Server 2008 SP2 with Exchange 2007 SP3 on it. Thanks. Mo

On the special permissions, I've added the other team members and ticked everything apart from to deny on delete and deny delete subfolders and files. Anyway when I tested this with the test user, it doesn't delete but the user can't add or amend existing files - error message "you do not have priviligies to write etc, please contact your administrator" I noticed when I set the delete to deny for both delete and delete subfolders and files, on the normal security tab on the objects properties, read & execute, List folder contents, read, write and special permissions are ticked. Have I missed anthing from the special permissions or done something wrong? Thanks.

Hi guys, I have a team folder setup where files are stored. In the team folder, each individual staff in the team has their own folder labelled 'Staff' I want to be able to grant staff to view each others files in this folder and even amend them (when they're off ill or on leave) but I don't want them to DELETE their colleagues files. So in other words they can do everything in that folder but can't delete apart from their own created file. I've messed around on the advanced special permissions - given User A all rights, and set to deny on delete and deny delete subfolders and files. It's not working the way I want it to. Anyone has any ideas? We're running Server 2008 SP2 and clients are on mixed XP SP3 and 7 SP1 Thanks in advance. Mo

Hi guys, I have a server HP ProLiant DL180 G6 thats has 2 physcial NIC's with the Hyper-V role installed. We're running on Server 2008 SP2! I've inherited a VM on here that has a external virtual switch setup which is all ok. What I'm looking for is creating a new VM and from what I've read online, you can only have each physical adapter can only be used for a single external virtual network. Is this correct? As I want to create a new VM, is it best for me to create a NEW virtual switch on the 2nd physical adapter? Also what's the static IP I should give to the 2nd physical adapter for me to create this virtual switch? I'm just trying to get into grips to all this and want to make sure I set this up correct, so I'd appreciate any feedback - just to confirm both virtual switches have to to external. Thanks :-) Mo

Hi, I've setup Outlook Anywhere for Exchange 2007 SP3 for staff and staff are able to log in to their emails at home and on the network. However, I've ran into a small problem which is when the staff log in at home via Outlook Anywhere, they can't query the GAL and returns the message unable to connect to Exchange. The GAL is all ok, staff can query this internal, via VPN, and also via webmail - just not with Outlook Anywhere with Outlook 2007. Anything that anyone can suggest? The profiles stored on the staff machines are on cached mode which may be by default when initial setup. Thanks. Mo

Archive Distribution groups to PST - Exchange 2007 SP3
mo_vigilante replied to mo_vigilante's topic in Enterprise Software
Thanks Sukh - that's answered my question. I don't have to back the groups up as didn't know whether they contained data. I'll just backup the users who belong to the group. Thanks. -
Hi, Does anyone know the cmdlet on Exchange Shell to archive Distribution Groups on Exchange 2007? I've managed to add mailbox permissions for users and then export the user's mailbox to a PST file. However, has anyone done distribution groups? I've got some old groups that are no longer needed and I'd like to archive them also to PST. The groups were created in AD, and a combination of 'Security Groups - Universal' & 'Distribution Groups - Universal' Thanks. :-)

Hi all, I'm trying to deploy a corporate email disclaimer which I've set up but it's not sending to to internal and external messages. Running on a 2008 platform where all servers running on Server 2008 SP2 including mail server which is Exchange 2007 SP1. I've created 2 disclaimers - one for internal use and one for external use (Edge Transport Rule). For the internal rule, I've setup the following conditions: - - From users inside and outside the organisation & sent to users inside and outside the organisation (Both scopes I've set to 'INSIDE' for these conditions) - Append disclaimer with text (this is where I've put our corporate disclaimer) - No exceptions for this is needed for this rule A seperate external rule I've setup with the same conditions - only difference is the scope which is 'OUTSIDE'. The internal rule priority is 0 and the external rule is 1. I think I've set it up accordingly, but am I missing something? As when sending test messages both internal and external, it isn't putting the disclaimer at the bottom of the message! Any ideas? Thanks.

Thats great :-) I know sometimes BE has an issue detecting the media if its not setup right but I assume yours is? Well hopefully it'll stay like that.

Hi, Have you checked the logs of where it's failing? I assume there is enough storage space on both disk and tape? Symantec support are good if you're able to raise a support case? The only thing I've experienced and caused me issue is the job being stuck in a queued status, but pausing the device, disable/re-enable, then unpause get the job to recognise the the catalog. But my first point of call is try to investigate the error ID and code, and see if you can raise a support case with Symantec? If not, paste them here. Thanks.

Hi folks, Looking for some contacts or suppliers who install, setup Mitel VOIP systems. We have Mitel CS-5200 systems in some of our sites and as well as using our current supplier, I want to see if I can get a better deal elsewhere as they seem to be a bit overpriced. I can therefore can all quotes together and choose the best one. So any advice or supplier you may know will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mo
