  1. You can have a virtual machine on site to "manage" the wireless aps which is a one off fee plus annual support etc or you have to pay for a 1, 3 or 5 year licence for a hosted (HMOL) service. The price is quite high if you compare it to other solutions.
  2. I selected the text no the website and when I went to the print dialog i selected to print the selection rather than "as laid out on screen" I used the Onenote printer to create a onenote file and save as PDF. win7tempprof.pdf
  3. Totally agree. it is probably Windows update replacing the driver that is causing the issues. Totally uninstall the device and install the driver from the manufacturers website. There is an option somewhere to stop Windows installing drivers from Windows update.
  4. We just recycle ours at the moment. After four years in a IT Suite covered in snot and God knows what else, I doubt anyone would want to buy the kit anyway!!!
  5. Support from the LA does include financial support. It would cost us a fortune to go with any other MIS supplier compared to the options we have at present. Plus SIMs would fit in nicely with a lot of our third party software, FrogVLE, EclipseMLS, Groupcall Emerge etc etc. There was a rumour that a school in Birmingham that had gone direct to a supplier with no LA support and ended up with a slightly better version of the MIS they would have got from the LA but paid a fortune, that supplier was SERCO!!!
  6. I had to have my rear window replaced. As I was with Admiral, I had to go with National. They were quick enough but the workmanship was a little bit dodgy. He broke my rear wiper trying to get it off, scuffed my paintwork and rounded off two screws that hold the spoiler on above the rear window. Wasn't impressed. If the chip is quite large, I would just get the windscreen replaced. But as the others have said, if the repair can't be done they won't do it.
  7. Not worth the hassle then! There are a few recycling companies offering a few quid to collect your old equipment, I think there are a few conditions though.
  8. I didn't think schools were allowed to sell equipment on? What changed to allow this?
  9. Our SMT are seriously considering Progresso, but reading all the issues schools have been having I think I'll have to try and sway them towards SIMS which is our only other option because of our LA. They don't support any other MIS as far as I know. We only ever hear negative comments about Progresso. Very dissappointing.
  10. We are currently looking into site wide wireless coverage. We've looked at Aruba, Ruckus and Aerohive. Although the Aerohive solution looked attractive in the first instance, we didn't like the licencing model they use. We are now down to Aruba and Ruckus, we like the Ruckus solution and the few extras like Beam Forming sound good. We are due to have some Aruba access points in for trial later this week and will see how they cope with 30+ Google Nexus tablets attached.
