The Learnpads are a bit too pricey. We're going to try some generic Asus/Acer type of sub £100 8" tablets and see how they perform. We only need basic Android as we want them as mobile browers and video/music players.

I'm wondering if theres a system out there for timed school bells (changeovers/breaks etc) that can be time synced in the same way as our servers (i.e ntp) so that the times match We have an old simply Danfoss time switch at the moment that triggers the bells, but has to have its clock set manually. The skew between PC clocks, bell clocks and cctv clocks accumulates over the year so although its a trivial thing I wonder if anyone had installed such a system?

I've been trying find if a Hudl3 was due, but it seems like Tesco have completely disowned them!

I'm surprised Tesco have stopped them , as they seem to have been a success story and always got positive reviews in the techy press.

I've never seen one of those in the flesh - they don't offer any upfront pricing so I bet they can't beat the £99 (or £80 without the vat!) of the hudl2. Plus we wanted a simple android with a handful of core apps rather than a customised OS.

It seems like Tesco are discontinuing the Hudl2 - and no word of a replacement! Its shame as we'd planned to buy a trolley of them due to their reasonable price, robust design and child friendly lock down. Now I'll have to find a way to lock down Android tablets in a different way

Slightly different to my 'disco of indecision' where its like watching a game of whack-a-mole when any number of the 16 connected ipads appear/disappear!

We bought loads of the original Casio aj130 models and we've had the highest failure rate of any projector model ever on them! Loads of issues like failing to power on, spotty displays or big pixelated sections have made for lots of warranty calls. I like the idea of the led projectors but the Casio ones have been a bit of a nuisance here compared to the vastly cheaper and more reliable bulb InFocus models we also use!

So did I, and I thought that's what my problem must have been. You do have to check the option to mark it as a CA certificate as @CyberNerd describes above which presumably gets around this.

Ours still has the smoothwall.local name and it now works. I removed any old certificates from the Google domain and then exported the certificate from the smoothwall box, then reimported it back into the Google domain. It showed the same details as previously but now works fine, so I'm not sure what the problem was?

Ha! Deleted the certificate, re-exported it, and then imported it back into the admin console and its working perfectly now!

Hmm, our smoothwall still uses the smoothwall.local name, which is on the certificate. It works fine deployed to any other device apart from the chromebooks. I wonder if it won't work unless it uses our domain name. I've got it setup exactly the same as you by the look of it.

Its the certificate exported from smoothwall that we deploy to windows machines and IOS devices which seems to work ok I can see it has installed on the chromebooks so I guess its something else wrong with that certificate.

I've finally managed to get a test chromebook and some time to tinker. I've now got an enrolled chromebook which seems to be pulling policies down nicely. The only (albeit a biggy) problem is that ssl inspection isn't working. We use smoothwall and have the certificate installed on all devices (Windows/mac/ios) and the chromebook appears to have pulled this certificate down (when you check in the settings/certificates) But any ssl traffic is blocked with the 'Your connection is not private' and the error NET: ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID I feel like I'm very close but is there something else I'm supposed to do? I followed the google instructions and it all seems to have configured correctly.

Its must be a firewall issue here - if I hotspot to a phone it works ok - but if I check our firewall I can't see anything being blocked I've setup the firewall rules according the cisco's instructions - has anyone else done this, and what ports/addresses did you have to open?

I managed to get as 1.7.2 working in OS X 10.11 but I don't think it's supported. The problem with the way apple have done this is iOS 9 is a fairly minor release but to deploy it you have to endlessly upgrade, which forces the vpp method as well. It's a lot of changes to test and absorb if you've just been happily managing iPads with the old ac. Plus the unfinished nature of ac2 hasn't helped. As for contacting apple support, life's too short! They've never responded or sorted any reported issues in the past.

I fancy a one plus two, I put myself on the list for the original but gave up waiting and bought an Xperia z1 instead! Now I have the gadget lust again....

I don't know if anyone else has seen this problem, but if I apply a profile with no restrictions via Meraki then it works - add the restrictions (which is half the point) and it fails applying the profile

I'm trying to get Meraki working with some ipads, so I created a basic profile (wifi) to setup the ipads and get them online. Nothing else is in this profile The ipads connect through the wireless fine, and then I go to meraki to pull down the management profile - again this works fine and the Apps start to install. But it will not install any of the profiles/restrictions and meraki logs an error: Code: 4001 Domain: MCInstallationErrorDomain Profile Installation Failed Code: 4017 Domain: MCInstallationErrorDomain Remove the profile “Profile Name” before installing this profile. Am I missing something here - if I remove the Profile, the ipad lose its connection and therefor meraki loses it, with it on and connected meraki is telling me to remove it!?

I've now found why any of my VPP apps fails to start when deployed with Ac2 - it logs a 'exited due to fairplay failure' in the console. They are VPP apps - actually shows up with the little VPP flash in the corner in Ac2, yet still fail. I'm really struggling to get anywhere now. I can't manage 9.1 properly with Ac 1.7 as theres bits missing, AC2 doesn't work in so many ways and I'm struggling to get our meraki solution working. Makes the Hudl2's we bought a while ago look fantastic!

I'm sick to death with AC2 and the lengths I've had to go to to get a simple profile to work! I've tried using Meraki instead - but I still need AC to get a connectivity profile installed. So far that works but when I join them to the Meraki and it tries to deploy our (VPP) apps all I see is 'The iTunes Store ID of the application could not be validated' for every single app. Honestly, if apple spent as much time on development as they did on licensing restrictions they would have a quality product!

There's just the small issue that ac2 is very buggy and unusable by many. I can't use it on single devices and plugging into a cabinet shows a flickering display of random iPads as it detects some, then changes it mind constantly. Apple rushed this out without any real testing so I've just ditched it until there's an update.

May I make a suggestion for the forum name - how about 'The Latest Must-Have Fad'
