  1. Ours doesn't seem specific to Edge, as we've had the users download the PDF first and then print from Acrobat, so it suggests a driver/update issue. As the driver has been in place for many months, it suggests an update at the client end or server has knackered this. The printer/copiers don't use authentication either, just the old department codes for printing colour
  2. We've got an odd issue with Server 2016 and 2019 on several sites now. When users send a PDF to print, it shows in the server queue and stays permanently on 'Spooling' At this point the spooler is kaput, and has to stopped and any print jobs killed before the service is restarted This is now happening on 2 * 2016 server and 1 * 2019 server, the only common factor is they all user the Toshiba Universal Printer 2 Driver (same version). They've been using them for a while so I suspect a recent update has borked this, on both 2016 and 2019 server I haven't found anything relating to pdf printing problems, and other print jobs are ok, anyone have any idea what update may have done this?
  3. Its local profiles, no CSM as we removed that a couple of years ago. Its daft that it works in the iOS app, but not Windows. I'll just stick with the RemoteApps functionality, that seems to work at least
  4. This is such a typical W10 style issue. RDS session on W10 client, open desktop and the Start menu doesn't work RDS session on iOS client, open the desktop and the Start menu works fine I mean, FFS this start menu problem should have gone years ago!
  5. I’ve deleted the profiles and it didn’t help. It does work as an admin account as you say though. It did work ok until recently as well so I’m guessing the last update borked things again
  6. Are MS ever going to fix their poxy Start Menu problems - its now affecting my 2019 server running RDS Anyone logging in to an RDS desktop gets the desktop and redirected icons OK but the start menu does nothing, click or right click. It just highlights but does nothing This goes back to the first flipping build of Windows 10 and I'm sick of it cropping up even today in server products as well. Its a core part of the OS and they still can't get it to work consistently! As is it now, I've had to tell users to use the Remote Apps instead as the desktop is useless until this is fixed.
  7. Ah I knew there'd be an easier way! - that should work without me moving anything as the existing profiles will have their paths in the ProfileList\ProfileImagePath so it should only apply to new users, which should work fine.
  8. I've got an RDS 2019 server which is running on SSD drives, with some old 3.5 Sata drives sitting unused - as its a remote desktop server the users profiles are building up in the C:\Users folder. Its a small 120GB SSD (in RAID1) so I'm thinking of redirecting all users to the D:\Users folder for their profiles, but the only way I can think to do it for all users (and ones that haven't logged in yet) is to create a D:\Users and use a symbolic link to replace the C:\users folder, effectively redirecting it. Am I missing an easier option here? I think this will work but I feel I'm overcomplicating it
  9. Has anyone found a decent extension or tool to print/export multiple emails to PDF, from Gmail within Chrome? I've tried the Multi Print extension but its not very useful,as it just opens the email in multiple tabs and you then have to click Print on each tab!
  10. VIC20 -> Commodore 64 -> O Level Computer Studies - OND - HND - (mixed bag of non IT jobs!) - Programmer - Senior Programmer - IT Network Support. And still have the Commodore 64! Sad to think this is probably my last job in IT, when the MAT redundancies kick in, I'll be looking for something different I think as IT opportunities seem to be thin on the ground in my region
  11. Mine is now varying wildly from 5 on/48 off to 30 on/ 23 off - its changing every few minutes! Cambium tried to blame it on our network initially, but the fact they all went off at the same time, after their update was a bit of a giveaway!
  12. Anyone else's Xirrus/Cambium cloud management gone offline? Since the 'update' this morning all my APs are showing as offline, despite still broadcasting and working as APs internally Cambium support don't seem to know whats happened, but the fact it happened immediately after their update is a little suspicious!
  13. You'd think wouldn't you!
  14. It does seem to still be a 'risky' site to allow in my opinion. But I guarantee I will be overruled by SLT who will insist that teachers should be allowed access to a site that provides ripped films and programs....!
  15. Do you block this site or not? We've blocked it for a while, as its been categorized as 'potentially adult material' in the past, plus it seems to be copyright ripped stuff. We also noticed it seemed to be incredibly slow, but I suspect that it because its trying to pull in advert which are blocked. However as is now the norm, teachers know better and want this site unblocked as its a 'valuable education resource' or in IT terms 'full of ripped off content we don't have to buy' So do you still block it?
  16. No, I simply installed in on 2016 server and left it on there. Never could find a reason why 2019 didn't work
  17. I think my issue is slightly different. The Windows search box in the task bar works ok, but the file explorer search box was simply disabled, or you couldn't type into it! Update has been applied and I still have the issue, although sometimes a reboot fixes it but not for very long.
  18. Yay! We have a result! It was indeed the Geforce 9400 - the vendor id wasn't helping me to find that. Downloaded an older Win7 x64 driver package from Nvidia and its working now Cheers for the input! These macs may live to fight another day, although they might want to top themselves if they realise they're running W10 ;-)
  19. I've tried Nvidia and AMD packages and both tend to come up with the same sort of message, ie. the computer doesn't meet the minimum specifications. I'm not sure if LTSC is causing an issue, or whether I'll have to dig out an older driver
  20. Hmm all I could find was AMD related, Nvidia has got to be worth a go!
  21. Does anyone know what VGA driver is required for a 2009 Generation iMac 21.5 with the Intel board? I'm trying to install W10 on one, and its not officially supported. I've got it all working though apart from the VGA driver which is simply showing as the Microsoft Basic Display adaptor. It think its AMD 4850 from I can find from searches, but no drivers I download work, including when trying the Bootcamp ones. Its a bit of a vague hope but I thought I might be able to run LTSC on these to squeeze a bit more life out of them!
  22. Thanks for all the suggestions, I think Luxriot is the best for us - £1200 for 72 cameras and its visually similar to Milestone, so SLT will be happy to switch. Can't believe Milestones pricing, £8300 for the same setup, they really don't want your business!
  23. We've had the print management error (when you get a script error in Extended view) for a good while now - still even on 1909 as well When you look around a few people have uninstalled various updates with some success but none of these updates have been on our affected PCs. Its a right pain so I'm wondering if anyone has found a workaround/patch/hack to solve this?
  24. I've been having a play with Luxriot and it seems good - the scan found all of my cameras straight away, which Milestone didn't manage to do! Shame I can only have 8 cameras on the free version but so far I'm impressed
  25. Never heard of Luxriot but first impressions are good, are you just using the free versions? Mind you once you get over 48 cameras the price is £4k and more!
