Just out of curiosity, are you completely against managing the devices? My suggestion would be to go via the Apple Configurator route (completely free from the Apple App Store), so that you can completely disable access to this app. Whilst thinking about it, it may be worth limiting access to other apps such as FaceTime... It's worth noting however, that you can only do 30 at a time. Hope this is of some help.

We have a few iPads within circulation at the moment, but they're strictly for use by SMT, their PA's and all those within IT Services. It's our intention in the coming months to look beyond this, and provide an iPad for all Teaching staff, with the prospect of student devices too in the near future. I came across this recently, and think it could come in very handy with mass deployment and configuration. Mac App Store - Apple Configurator

Sounds to me like you've probably figured out what the issue was. Glad to hear all appears to be working ok now. London_Geek

Mac internet problems with internet but this works on all pc's

Could I get a few more details please? - Which version of OS X are you currently running? - Are you running these connected to a Mac Server? If so, do you have your proxy set via the Workgroup Manager? - Have you only tried using Safari? What happens if you try using a different web browser? - Is the issue replicated when you use other user accounts? LAdmin and ODAdmin for example... London_Geek -

Are you experiencing this issue specifically when using Safari, or with any other web-browser? -
Hi Kineas, Sorry, I've only just got back to checking my emails and saw that you'd replied twice!! That's fantastic that the backups now seem to be working. Out of curiosity, was it only a single nights backups that produced the aforementioned error, or a series of days? Keep running with what you have at the moment, and see if all continues OK for the mid-week tasks. Fingers crossed it looks like these are fine. Are you able to check back through the Job History to see if previous WEEKLY FULL tasks have failed also? It may be that there is an issue pertinent to the Policies specific to this backup... It appears we're in the same boat; I've only been looking after the backups here for the past couple of weeks. Good to hear that your backups were successful last night. To check the type of backups running, go to... Job Setup > Policies > Double Click on your active policy > Click "Yes" to change the policy for the specified back. I assume within here you'll be able to see both your Daily and Weekly templates; Double click on the Daily > Settings > General > Backup Method. Here you should see a drop-down menu that will enable you to select whether the backups are run in Full, Differential, Incremental etc. London_Geek

A couple of questions... - Have the tapes been allocated to the correct media set e.g. Daily Differential or Weekly Full, and not been left within "Scratch"? - Has the service stopped as suggested? Along the bottom of the Backup Exec window, you should see a little green circle indicating that the service is running normally. If it isn't, it will instead display a red x. Double click, and choose to restart the service. Now attempt to re-try the backups, and see if this resolves issues. Hope this is of some help. London_Geek

Unfortunately it's the same issue here, which I don't really understand. The school is closed, therefore I can't come in, but they're still going to take the time out of my annual entitlement... Hmm, not fair if you ask me!!

Bought my copy this morning - absolutely cannot wait to start playing it!! Bought my PS3 in anticipation of it being a release title, and have been waiting (sort of) patiently ever since. I just hope it lives up to the hype!!

Here's hoping that your cure for boredom isn't arson?!

I bought a Canon 450d just over a year ago, and have absolutely loved it since the day it first arrived. Sturdy and robust without feeling too heavy. The weight of the camera is certainly something you'll want to consider too, as you'd be surprised how heavy they can feel after carting them around for a day on holiday etc... Mine arrived with both the EF-S 18-55mm, and the EF-S 55-250mm, both with IS. I've managed to capture some cracking shots with both, and until I reach a time when money permits upgrading, then I shall be more than happy to stick with these. Sure, the initial cost is a little steep, however the paybacks are so worth it. I hope you enjoy whatever you chose to purchase!!

If it's not bad enough that you have to pay through the nose for the "privilege" of owning one of these devices, you then have to stump up another £25.00 for the iPad Camera Connector?! Don't get me wrong, I love Apple devices, but there doesn't seem to be an end to their cheek when it comes to trying to make the customer cough up even more cash for one of their little add-ons...

Frustratingly, we've got to go up two flights of stairs and down two corridors, past 3 classrooms and an ICT Suite before we can get anywhere near our staff room. Thankfully, pop out of the school gates and there is a lovely little café round the corner - which surprisingly is much closer than the staff room, and the coffee is far nicer too!!
