Hi all, Does anyone have any idea what decent instand messenging software there is around? Both free and chargeable software is useful. It must be only network based. It is something that might be useful to give to teachers to contact each other easily but also a useful function would be being able to contact the students and have help sessions if needed. cheers

Hmm, just changed another setting in the same gpo, didn't apply that either :s I only asked it to remove screen saver tab from display properties.

Just tried that, no luck. Could it be the roaming profiles overiding it?

Yeh ive read about that, but i only want to apply a wallpaper, surely GP is the best way?

Hi, Iam having this problem too. I have applied the setting in GP and enabled active desktop. If i run gpresult on the client machine i get: BHCC Backdrop Image filtering not applied Any ideas? Thanks

Im using group policy. Ive only just started having a play with deployment so im not that familiar.

Wouldn't that mean logging onto each machine individually? If i had to do that i would install the notebook software separately.... Next Q, is it possible to get the MSI to deploy just the notebook software? If not does it work creating my own MSI to do it?

Doh! Suppose that should have been my first port of call, oops All it was, was the permissions on the folder to the MSI. Now does anyone know how to deploy it without the sidebar, customer surveys and that coming up? I have pointed a start menu icon to just run notepad, which is all they need, that run perfectly. Hi All, I have setup smart board to depoly to an ict suite but cannot get it to work properly. It comes up saying installing managed software and says smart board for about a second then goes to the login screen. Obviously this isn't installing it that quickly but i cannot see why? I have tried using the provided MSI and using a custom shortcut to do a quiet install which works perfectly if you click it directly but it still wont deploy. I have tried assigning by computer and publishing by user with the same results, also on 9.5 and 9.7. I hope someone can help, it's frustrating!

I had a similar problem yesterday with our new root dc and backup root dc, i had to put the DNS for the main server to 127.0.0.1 and the second DNS as that servers IP. Then added the counties DNS in separately, it solved the problem, although i do not know enough about DNS for other problems. The second server was set with the main servers IP.

We had this problem once but it's all fine now, we use the following command in run: -mini -pnp -reseal -activate We haven't had a problem since this.

Ive been here for 6 months and apart from the odd sniffle been fine, until last week that is. I had some dodgy food and was ill over the weekend, came into work and am now coughing my guts up, guess my immune system couldn't keep everything away at once!

I'd just use IE and Firefox for the two, be easier, i don't know of any software that does it for you.

Zirtek are fantastic for hayfever relief, i also take them for my alergies with the cats! If your really bad then get some strong ones on prescription.

Im stuck with it on my personal laptop as Nvidia don't do XP drivers for my graphics card!! I tried to install my antivirus and the system corrupted lol. At least my PC and work laptop are XP.

We have a gigabit backbone with 10/100 and some gigabit switches running off of it. I would at least have the backbone of the network gigabit, depends on your budget really.

We had ours put in after a small fire was started!

Check print spooler in Services.msc, we had this stop a couple of times. Other than that we had to delete and reinstall the printer to sort out the problem.

Ours are mainly avayas with the odd samsung.
