i use proxy bypass sites all the time ive even got a firefox addon called phproxy - inbasic you click on the little icon and it redirects the blocked site through a proxy server in one click.

Yeah none of them are correct in respect to the context of the question. The question states that "A Printer runs out of paper when printing a text document. The error message displayed is 'Printer is out of paper'." Is this on the PC or the Printers LCD display? thats what would let you answer the question accurately, if the latter the supplied answers would be inappropriate. it could appear asif the printer is saying it is "out of paper". i could unplug the printer from the pc and make it print a test page from the internal memory, and it would say "out of paper", the printer is generating this message. so the question is completely unclear and stupid... I think thats why ive only ever got a B in IT at gcse and alevel i did do my IT coursework that was 100% of the A2 level mark in a solid 36 hours though, hell yeah.

sounds alright, i did my work experience in year 10 at a record shop, that was pretty cool. In year 12 i went to a recording studio that was awesome, the memories are a little hazy though.

id have to say they are most exellent, they last an age, my dad had his last one for about 5 years and he only got a new one because i couldent be arsed to reinstall windows, it still works. My mates had his for 3 years and all he does is abuse it, its still pretty quick too, i fixed it a while ago, but that was just norton being shite. I always feel theres something strange about them in a geeky way... They arnt very "snappy", im not sure, its probably just me...

i havent really got a network just got a pc running 64bit ubuntu linux, its a 3200 64bit athlon, 1gb ddr400 ram, x800 gfx card 200gb hdd, 120gb hdd drive, all full. im running a "server" its a P3 700mhz, 384mb of ram, X2 60GB IBM hard drives (80% capacity) its a ubuntu lamp server running bit tornado with torrent flux infront of it, Amule service (connect to that via remote front end) SSH, openvpn and samba. 1mb ADSL line, because i live so far away form the exchange from pipex, extremely slow Bit torrent/amule speeds all day less than 20k (with encryption!), picks up around 2am to 8am. If i had some money id probably have some hench setup but alas i dont, im going traveling next week then to uni, so untill the second year il just have a standard pc, and maybe a nice shiny new 13" macbook im thinking of making some kind of crazy server for uni as il be in halls and its in the center of london. based on a mini itx board with about 4 108mps wireless cards, 250gb sata drive, 500gb sata drive, Slackware distro connected to some "cantennas" to crack into networks to leech bandwidth while im in halls. hopefully il get about 20mps constant

yeah, i will make a wc rig again one day, thats completely silent... the only thing id advise is that you dont get 1/2" tube get the smaller tube, and to test your setup out before you put it in the case with the components!

No i just dont think its challanging personally due to theclimate were in. Having an RM network, undervalued in general and staff that have no desire for interesting solutions or cool tricks, it makes it dull. At some schools staff would be really interested in having say a freeview recording server, that would stream bitesize and programs to pcs on demand. Thats the kind of stuff im interested in implimenting. but at my school, there was demand from teachers, but not from slt, they said i could have some money with the new budget, i find out that was cut from £6000 to £1200, and now we have no development budget. So i tried to just make a standard myth box on legacy hardware, all runs nicely (after much effort) but there isnt £120 for a new ariel. im leaving next week, Awesome.

As a tech i do pretty much anything, there are somethings i dont do and try avoid; these are SIMS, and KS3 Online testing. Apart from that il do anything, even if i know nothing about it (thats when google is your friend...) il replace toners, build packages, scan stuff, fix servers, laptops, pcs, take stuff apart, get quotes for equipment, and general day to day problems. TBH i find it pretty dull, most of it is common sence, there isnt much interesting complex technical stuff that goes on. I was a student last year, if id known what the job actually involved and all the crap that goes with it, i would have definately thought twice, or found a better school haha. yeah im moaning again...

this is what i think... RM provides a standard learning platform os, hardware, support and tools at a price, with this you can pay staff peanuts and employ IT monkeys (i am one of these)...you pay for a fixed service, that is easy to comprehend and easy for schools to understand and impliment. Standard network you have a proper network, thats cheaper, more efficient, safer, more flexible, however in theory you should be paying industry grade and pay for IT professionals? basically i dont want to work in a school ever again, because government run organisations are in efficient, stupid, pay badly, and dont value anyone.

thats a pretty clever trick. i knew you could rename the folder to a control panel icon, but i never thought about hideing files in the folder. They could just hide their files in a word, publisher, or ppt file? thats what i used todo...

Charcoal all the way, gas bbqs are for wimps We got a Weber BBQ (big round things) a couple of years ago, and thats amazing, it works like an oven when you put the top on and you can cook all sorts of stuff in it. We sometimes cook our roast chicken in it, it tastes amazing. Whiskey barrel chips sound nice... we used to used lavarocks and hickory chips in our gas bbq, they were alright, but it still didnt taste like a real bbq. South african Boerewors sausage is great on the bbq, this stuff is the best sausage i have ever had. No english sausage comes any where close.

could you not put a linux install on a vmware player as a package and distrobute it? orr, you could just have a couple of standalone computers in a room with ubuntu or someting installed and put a cheapo router with a strict firewall in the way, just for port 8080... sorted?

i think were going for a konica minolta 5440 now, due to the robustness of the old one... My boss doesent like hp and the konica minolta one seems basically the same running costs and specs... Has anyone got a 5440? advice? thanks geoff il check them out.
