About frankq

  1. I have looked at the ones from Hills and they seem a reasonable buy. I am awaiting a quote for some sold by Califone in the USA which also seem to be a set that will stand up to a bit of abuse. I am considering the idea of coating the leads in some sort of varnish made from the Trinidad Scorpion Chil Pepper as a deterent to chewing
  2. Ideal, oaktech, but with my budget for headphones I could only afford one pair.
  3. I ressurected this because I too am looking for headphones that will stand up to use in the IT suite. I have found an Amercan company that does a robust looking headphone and have asked them if they can tell me if it's available over here. The company website is califone.com and the model 610 headphones seem to be well built.
  4. We had a concealed projector on a lift installed in our hall which is also used for games so it had to be able to be safely stored above the false ceiling, along with a motorised screen and decent sound system. DCI-Ltd Datacabling from West Yorkshire did the job during the summer break and we have been very pleased with it
  5. We have a Samsung Magicinfo screen in reception that I run over the school network It uses one computer as a server (currently my laptop) that deploys content to the screens built in pc. Author software can be used to create content and then publish it to the server where schedules and timings are set before deploying to the screen or screens if you had more than one.

    Laser Cutter

We have a Denford 3000 and we use Denford 2d laser design software with it. Denford came out and trained staff who were going to use it and are always available on the phone should we have a problem
  7. I have had one of these installed since September in a reception class for speciial needs children. I had it mounted on a power lift so that it can be used by the tallest and the shortest in the class. As I was replacing a 65" Smartboard with it I had the same size screen with a pc built in to the back. The software is ok but our staff have over they years made lots of resources on Smart Notebook and they seem to run ok on it. The OS on the pc is win7 pro and one thing thing that did prove a problem was when using web based educational games, the touch and drag would move the whole page rather than the object on the page. Turning of Flicks on Windows was the answer to that.
