  1. I would like to try the head tracking with saftey glasses. Can someone point me to the type of components I would need?
  2. You just have to treat these low paid jobs as stepping stones. You have your experience now, so go out and find a job where they are willing to pay for your knowledge, skills and experience. That is what i did although I moved from a company rather than a school. 4 years down the line I am a lot happier doing a job using the skills I had trained for in the first place and my wage has doubled. You just have to find the right place to work which can be the most difficult part but very satisfying once you are there.
  3. I would have thought you would be looking at a Network capable one really. Might not be too bad if you can connect it to the same switch as the computers.
  4. Have you confirmed the HD is actually healthy?
  5. Just make sure you only delegate the user permission to change the passwords of the users in the OUs that you want them to.
  6. Why dont you just assign it as a log on script?
  7. Try running the ultrasound tool from microsoft it is very helpful at monitoring and troubleshooting problems like this.
  8. VB Script does not know what to do with %homedir% without expanding it first. It will just treat it as its written. Looking at the way you have used it as a string, it may work if it looks ok in the registry but normally you have to do this: vbscript expand environment variable - Google Search
  9. You cant just use an environment variable in VB such as %homedir% you must expand it first. There is a command to do this.
  10. It would be to change the user environment so it would be a log on script. There are plenty of examples on the MS Script Centre you can adapt for your needs.
  11. Hmm wrong thread maybe?
  12. I would second that suggestion. We had a problem with the backup being too big sometimes and the server would just be stuck on the backup until I fixed it. I made sure SQL had started by 7 am after that.
  13. and at 5:41 onwards that hits on that page sky rocketed after your post

  16. What like this? : Ss John Fisher & Thomas More R.C High School - Our location
  17. There was a post along the same lines earlier in the week: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/17472-nm-interview-tips-advice.html
  18. Mine will be quicker and easier tbh ;-) . Make sure you run it from you local machine and not a share or anything it comes up witha funny error (at least I think it's this program that does that)
  19. If you are interested in knowing if they are just using email rather than the actual content then you need some monitoring software such as lanview, AB Tutor, Net Support etc etc. This will allow you to tile the students screen on your teaching pc and will also show little icons next to their name etc of what apps they are running and what the window title is. Edit hmm for some reason the above post didnt show when I read the thread. So appologies for duplicate information
  20. Yup yup I used AD modify to fix all my display name. When I scripted user imports I was always setting my CN to the user name which can be a bit hard to browse in a list so I changed them all the their full name.
  21. Infact having a quick google I think it's AD modify that I used Using ADModify to Change Exchange Specific AD User Attributes in Bulk
  22. There is a program that can do this for you. I had a similar problem and the engineer put me onto it. It is for doing bulk modifications to AD. I cant remember it's name but it has also been mentioned on here.
  23. If you want to do the A+ and already have experience then I would but the book and take the exam. I doubt you would struggle doing it that way at all.
