I'm fairly sure that it's illegal to supply an unfused plug in the UK - I'd give ASUS a call back and point that out! Did you buy these direct or from a third party? Whoever sold them to you may well need reporting. Can't find much official documentation, but there's a charity that may be able to guide you further: BS 1363 Plugs and Sockets

(A few months ago, I'd have happily identified with SJWs but have since seen that there are just as many nut-jobs in that group as people genuinely trying to help - they're not a good representation of the average leftie IMO)

I think the important difference here though is that you're not just discriminating against them just because they voted for a political party, but because this clearly aligns them with the will to discriminate against others based on things they had no choice in, such as ethnicity. On the other hand, it could be argued that Tory's discriminate against the poor with their benefit cuts and lack of effort to clamp down on tax dodgers....

It's already been said, but you're more than welcome to take a pop at me for being a Labour voter; that's my choice. However, digs about gender or sexuality are an entirely different affair, and you well know it. Stop the drama.

The difference is, none of those things you mentioned are the result of a person's choice - it is who they are. Voting Tory was an active choice made by each Tory voter. Plus, it's clearly a joke.

I'm really intrigued by this program (it's called Humans, coming soon to Channel 4), however I'm pretty sure that's a big whopping breach of eBay's AUP right there... "Pre-approved buyers" on eBay? Like the site wasn't full of enough carp, now they're selling advertising space disguised as listings. eBay needs to be taken out back and shot.

Also don't forget that people generally live to their means; losing nearly £100 a month is going to hit my family hard. Granted, we'll survive, adapt and get used to it, but it's quite a significant amount of money to lose for a family just over the threshold.

The BBC were giving this out last Summer - I have tried contacting both the PiFace team and the BBC to find out what's going on and neither will talk to me. Find it all very odd. Cancelled my Kickstarter pledge as nobody would clear up the obvious shadiness around the whole relationship. I received some anonymous emails making some claims as to the "why", but nothing official. EDIT: as you know the designer, perhaps you wouldn't mind explaining what's going on? It appears that either PiFace or the BBC have "stolen" the idea but as neither will hold their hands up (or point the finger, possibly understandably) it leaves me the potential consumer feeling uneasy. PM if it's not something you can make public...

I was thinking the same thing, now we'll really see what this Tory government is all about; I suspect I won't like it one bit.

I was a bit disappointed too. Some laugh out loud moments, but far too much of Philomena Cunk and Barry S**tpeas I thought; they're occasionally amusing but last night I just hated every second wasted with them on screen!

It's amazing how many traditional Labour voters say they're voting for UKIP on the one hand and Tory bashing on the other. Clueless.

Not every party is represented in every area. There may well be a party you align closely enough too to vote for, but they may not necessarily be represented in your constituency. And no, I wouldn't vote for the "lesser evil" just to try to stop the "bigger evil" winning - I will not give my support to any "evil"!

Oh and to those so obviously jealous of the "benefits gravy train" - why not become one of the "scroungers" yourself and lap up the perks? Be sure to come back and tell us how great life is in 12 months won't you?
