One thing i have noticed but need to check further is a few of my XP laptops didn't automatically upgrade when they came online the following day but my windows 7 laptops did. Simply re-deployed the workstation upgrade and this went through fine

Had exactly the same issue happen to me twice, the second time though i backed up the Solus 3 Dployment UI folder before i upgraded Solus 3. The error reports that the tolerance has not been met when deploying the Solus 3 UI part of the update and rolls back, when you then close the Solus3 UI the folder is deleted. I Copied the Solus 3 dployment UI folder back, ran the Solus 3 upgrade again and it ran through error free

To get around this issue, simply go to the regional settings click on Additional settings and then hit reset. This will resolve the issue, no need to change anything, just hit reset Regards John

On the machine you think is the Sims Server, Start/Run, then type in C:\Windows\Sims.ini There will be a line in there that makes reference to where your SQL binn directory is. Normally SimsSQLDirectory=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQl10.Sims2008\MSSQL\Binn The Data folder would sit next to the Binn folder if all the defaults were unchanged during the SQL installation The Path above may vary slighlty as i am going off mermory here Hope this helps

You Could move the virtual memory (page file) to an alternative drive if that hasn't been carried out. Or use software to resize the partition, but personnaly i would be careful using that option. As for p2p networks, you would be surprised at how many authorities still have p2p for their Admin networks. Capita support approx. 180 schools in the northwest who are p2p, so in essence, each pc will need a visit to install the Solus3 agent before the Solus ui will pick them up, Capita then advise to use Solus 3 to deploy .Net4. I am advising their Technical staff to start the installs now for .net 4, giving schools a bigger window to deploy Solus3. Solus 2 will still be around for at least another year if not longer.

Capita has 2 helpdesks, Bedford and Chelmsford, The Chelmsford helpdesk is an amalgamation of 13 regional centres support staff after 8 regional centres were closed over the last few years. If you are supported via the Chelmsford helpdesk then they will escalate any database issues to Capita Bedford if they cannot resolve them If you are supported directly by Bedford then you may get a quicker response time as there is no going backwards and forwards between helpdesks on more complicated issues Be aware though that Bedford dont normally visit to resolve issues where as Chelmsford staff will as their second line staff are spread from Cumbria to Chelmsford. If i had to choose, i would choose Bedford for support Hope this helps John
