We would like a survey doing from yourselves. We are looking to replace our Ruckus system across 3 sites with a decent BYOD solution for students and guests, and having it all integrate with our Smoothwall S14

I upgraded our test cluster from 2019-2022 and it was one of the most painless upgrades. I will be upgrading the main cluster during half term. The one that scares me a little is upgrading the storage for the cluster im tempted to move the data to another server first then do it and move back.

Started upgrading to Server 2022 a few weeks ago, so far done a couple of domain controllers and 5 general servers. Debating whether to upgrade the cluster, I will probably leave that until after Christmas though. Going to be testing it with some of the more complex stuff SQL, printserver, web server before rolling it out for production. So far I have had no issues other than a driver for a really old raid card.

We have been having a similar issue to what you describe but with unifi and accounting packets We are also on Leeds 49 and NPS 2019. Let me know if you tried server 2022 as that was my next step in trying to fix it.

Done about three quaters of the servers, there are a few running old software that we tested that dont work and wont until we get the budget to replace them. We havent need help from anyone as yet although we will for SIMS SQL did several tests with this and to be safe in most cases just moved the database to a new VM. Again looked into SIMS and given the time we have had with it decided not to move it. Also dont know a lot about it so will be asking company for help with that. Exchange we are currently in hybrid mode so we have been doing work to move the few public folders we have to the cloud, the plan is once were happy with everything to get rid of on prem server. Got all the Hyperv cluster servers upgraded no problem at all, we are replacing the backend storage hardware later in the year so that will also have 2019 on it. We are part way through moving the print server over too. We have most desktops on Windows 1903 as we are rolling out onedrive instead of local home folders, so far this has caused the most issues. We also have that age old problem with printers disappearing randomly. Other than that its gone well.

Actually done both, upgraded a couple of low level servers that only us techs use and done a few from scratch for vm's etc. Looking forward to testing the storage migration service in the lab, then if I have the balls do it, the real file storage servers. Eventually will get round to the bigger servers if supported for SQL, Exchange, SCCM, SIMS etc.

So far got half of the cluster nodes done, 4 vm's and 4 physical servers. Just another 30 or so to go then we are done, just hope it goes as easily as the first few.

Had to ring MS to get key, which they fixed straight away so all good here now.

I got the download but dont have a KMS key yet so still cant use it

We have started replacing projectors in some rooms with Large TV's instead due to the fact its lower maintenance, also the cost of them has dropped a lot. We are also getting them with Android TV built in so staff can stream to them etc. Some rooms still need projectors as staff still use interactive boards but eventually these will be replaced too.

Ah that's a different department, personally if they say anything it would claim its for stress related symptoms....

Im in for the only reason of putting an ITX motherboard in an AT-AT and having the coolest pc on my desk! Or imagine tipping up to the finance directors office with their *new* death star pc! Even better our principal is Star Wars mad she would be over the moon with a Millennium Falcon pc on her desk....

Were still on 1.9 also, had the new version ready since march but we wanted to start from scratch and use the old one as an archive. We also wanted a consistent house style for all the courses and managed properly this time.

As a warning if you have or your users bring in a device with Windows 8.1 RT/Phone and you are using the captive portal the device will fail to connect due to IE11 not doing the redirect properly thus rendering your device unable to connect to your wireless. Naturally Ruckus are stating that its Microsoft's fault as IE11 breaks a lot of sites but they are being very quiet on the subject and are not offering up a workaround or patch to fix it. This leaves a lot of schools and colleges that have Ruckus hardware and took advantage of the Microsoft Surface offer in September with a serious problem, so if anyone from Ruckus read this please find a solution quick. If you have a Windows RT/Phone device that is still on Windows 8 then your in luck, the following 2 steps should work for you. 1) Do not use the "app (Metro)" version of IE, launch IE from the desktop 2) Enable Compatibility Mode

Hi, Were due to take delivery of our new ruckus wireless system in the next month or so but we need help with vlans etc. Basically we have 2 sites on differnet ip ranges and different vlans and what we are after is the same ssid's on both sites using those different ip ranges and vlans. Is this even possible or is there a better configuration. Let me know if I havent explained this very well and I will try to post more info. A

Ticking timebomb comes to mind. We have around 8 servers that are almost 7 years old on smaller sites that are in dire need of replacing too. Also been asked to look into look into BYOD hence the new wireless, this will be a right mare as will have to change lots on network. We chose to automate almost everything we could out of necessity, you name it we automated it.
