oh rolling out windows 7 as well (on compatible hardware)...lol (all workstations are xp sp3 at the mo) we've basically got easter and the summer holidays, though there will be other jobs to do in the summer too... we dont need to be finished by then, but I would at least like to have the main infrastructure roles completed by then. basically in terms of staffing, my manager has been off for nearly a year (unknown reasons) so myself and the other techy have been left with everything they used to do, I dont know when or if they'll be back so for the moment we'll just have to presume there will be the two of us. I'm a bit concerned that I will kill something, lol.... which roles would you migrate first?...DC? DNS or DHCP? or those three at the same time. and is it relatively easy to migrate data from 2003-08R2? I agree with you on the naming conventions, that makes much more sense.

Ok So this year we are planning a major upgrade to server 2008 R2 across the board (hopefully), most of our servers are currently running 2003 or 2003 R2 I will list the roles per server below before I carry on...and yes most of our servers are named after the simpsons (not my choice). yes, seems pretty accurate, and due to the strength of the mounting, doesnt seem to 'drift' like other systems. edit. we are using these over smartboards as they seem to be cheaper/superior. also...only the projector can fail not the whole board...we've had to bin some smart's because the kids have damaged the surface, not a problem with these.

we just purchased a epson 450wi LOVE IT and the mount is rock solid, though we had to get our DT department to create a metal plate to support it on a weaker wall. very sharp, but dont bother using USB/ethernet to project if you are planning on using rolling videos due to framerate, but for powerpoint they are fine. we get a nice 82inch screen thats sharper than any ceiling mount projector I've ever used.

im guessing that the server part not the client? their sims server is on a seperate machine, i'm only trying to install the client. i'm guessing this wouldnt run under app-v as a standalone package either?

I get the error 'The procedure entry point I_NetNameCanonicalize could not be located in the dynamic link library NETAPI32.dll' when loading the client.. 'mega fail'

Is this possible? our connected primary school wishes to use FMS from their terminal session (sims works) but it currently doesnt work, i'm guessing that's because it is a 16bit app and R2 doesnt support 16bit....is there any workaround for this?...they also want to be able to print straight to their local printer from FMS.. any help would be greatly appreciated, and this is a fairly urgent request for help... by the way, capita didnt seem to know much about this... thankyou

Maybe I wasnt very clear...K2 is a component for Joomla that takes over from the normal content manager. You can do something similar with vanilla joomla, but this is way more advanced + it has ACL built in so you can give different groups of people different access rights for whatever page on the site. it also allows you to create your own plugins/extra fields for content articles. try this videolink for more detailed info. http://www.joomlashack.com/joomla-components/357-joomlaworks-k2-video-review

Are there are Joomla users out there?...i'm guessing so.. I've just moved our joomla site over to the K2 CCK (content construction K2 - Ala drupal) and its just fantastic! I can publish articles to any category on the site, so say for example we have a curric section and a policies section. but our front page article list 'lifts' any article from any category that has the 'featured article' checkbox ticked. perhaps i'm getting excited over nothing but this component is the bomb. *sigh* we've just been bullied into Uniservity.. I loathe its permissions management system and LACK of any sense of style... I wanted to use Joomla+Moodle with an AD-SSO passthrough. I'm not an open source freak, but when it comes to VLE's or any web cms the proprietry software company's should just roll over and die imo.
