  1. Network card is not the problem as I've swapped the disk in to know working identical PC. Later today I cloned a known good working hard disk on to this one and the problem persists, so it seems that this computer account is not working and any new ones added to the domain are not working correctly, any ideas, I'm stumped...
  2. Hi Chaps, I have a really strange problem occuring on one PC, it takes ages to logon whichever user you try and once logged on network access is slow and unreliable. One thing that really slows it up and ends up crashing every time is adding a printer from active directory. I have tried a known good working ethernet port/cable and even swapped the hard disk out to a known working identical PC with the same results. I have run several tools to test the hard disk, all come out perfect. So hardware is definanlty fine. I have also tried removing this computer from the domain flushing dns and rejoining under the same computer name and the same process joining under a different computer name. The computer is in the same group as all the others. All other PC's on the domain are fine and logon within about 8-9 seconds where as this one takes either 30-40 seconds or over 4 minutes. I'm quite stumped now, need some fresh eyes on the problem! Stewart
  3. cms.lambeth.lgfl.net - Welcome Any way to remove this globally considering it wasn't installed via AD. Any one made a script yet?
  4. Thanks for that handy tip, I'll give that a try
  5. As far as policy is concerned, nothing has changed there and it only seems to happen every now and again...
  6. Hi Chaps, I have a couple of users on different machines complaining that when they go in to Outlook 2003 they are greeted with the account creation screen so it is losing that setting, I've witnessed it my self and put the exchange details back in but after a few days it is lost again. Any ideas where I should start to look for what is causing this? Thanks Stewart
  7. Overlooked how easy this was, it's just a case of copying the contacts in to the public contacts by right clicking any personal contacts list you have.
  8. I still haven't worked this out, any clues any one?
  9. Hi Chaps, I've just added a public contact list that everyone can see but can't work out how to add a .csv or .pst file with all the contacts I want in the public contact list. Import/Export doesn't seem to give the option. First day back in 3 weeks so I might be missing something really obvious!! Thanks
  10. Hi chaps, I have a Taxan Projector that is turning off after about 3 minutes, I've done the usual clean but to avail, has any one delved deeper in to these projectors other than removing the casing and metal flap?
  11. Thanks, that thread did indeed help, I found it afterwards but just didn't have time to reply. Got it sorted now
  12. Hi Chaps, I'm having a problem running local flash content, some one here advised editing the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust\mytrustfiles.cfg to stop the error message I was getting about the content not being safe, which I did and it sorted that problem but I'm still getting no flash content loaded, just the background image. I have managed to get it working on the admin account by going manually into the flash security settings, adding the local server again and then reloading the content. Latest version of flash and web content works fine. At the school on my weekly visit at the moment so any help much appreciated Any ideas?
  13. Sorry, that reply was meant for plexer but you explained it better than me any way
  14. Thanks, I thought it would be a nice easy one FN-GM: It logs them on locally, you probably have the option enabled that I have just asked about.
  15. I have forgotten how or where in GP to do this. I have 60 new laptops that sometimes don't logon to the wireless network immediately but users try to logon as soon as the dialog box appears. I need a way to stop logon unless wireless is connected, otherwise I get several calls a day asking why when we logon we dont have any network drives or the icons we usually do. Cheers
  16. Is there some part of it remaining as a service that hasn't been stopped/removed? I'd take a look there.
  17. Thanks, that worked perfectly but it still doesn't load Back to the developer again
  18. I am getting this error when using the Infer program by RM, what a well written piece of software This program uses local hosted flash files but I'm getting this error, I need to roll out this change to 60 laptops, any one know the way to adjust this via GP or registry settings? Haven't had much time to look in to it but thought I'd ask just incase some one has done it before This explains the error I'm getting.
