As long as the folder is shared and the security permissions are set to accept the accounts from the machines that SCO is installed on it should work fine. You might want to put a few lines in the clients HOSTS file to point to the IP address for the server that you have the Tucasi main databases installed on. This will work across domains and if the IP subnets are different between the admin and curriculum network then that can also be setup using the hosts file and giving the client dual IP address. On setup it will be worth checking that the SCO server path is setup via IP as in \\192.168.0.1\SCO. We have the security share and file permissions set so that only specific users have access to SCO since it goes contain a financial record its worth making sure students are unable to access it.

Can you remove the graphics drivers in safe mode and allow them to be found/reinstalled when the system restarts? Used this a few times with Windows but the same principle should apply. Since it removes the drivers all of the settings should go with them.

Daft question but have you checked the switches to see if someone has put a loop in the system by patching a switch to itself?

Certainly looks like Conficker to me. Having had dealings with that on a few hundred machines and it's a pain in the ass.
