  1. Hehe, I know. I'll wait until Monday now though I think, nothing like breaking access to school files for the weekend
  2. Brilliant, thanks Nick. Erm, this for version 8 ? I'm still on 7.
  3. Hello , I've browsed the posts but can't find this mentioned. We recently had a brute force attack on our hap server so I have been asked to limit login attempts. Our firewall is supposed to detect DOS attacks but didn't see this as a problem ( probably because of the HTTPS bypass rule I had to use ) so i was wondering if there is any code built in or that could be added to enable a 3 try minimum followed by a 10/20 min cooldown. Any ideas ? Rick.
  4. Hi Nick, i tried to message you through codeplex but not sure if you got it. My school want to use the Booking system for events rather than lessons so the initial booking would have to be preliminary and be emailed to an admin to confirm. Once confirmed it would be emailed to the relevant departments for catering, it/av support, etc. I'm quite happy to get my hands dirty with the source code but just thought I'd see i you've already tried something similar or have any info that would help. Rick.
  5. I noticed the My Files update ( I'm a big fan of HTML 5 ) and have pointed the users in its' direction already. Thanks for the clarification Nick, fantastic product as ever.
  6. Title says it all really, we are having an issue where users suffer terrible speeds when uploading unless they use the HTML uploader option. The new My Files option works fine aswell so I'm thinking a setting is wrong on the server somewhere but thought I'd throw it out to the educated geeks before trawling IIS. We have a proxy but it doesn't affect the speed whether it's set or bypassed, downloads are so far unaffected. Anyone seen anything like this before ?
  7. It'd be nice to have the option, see the splash for testing and then turn it off for stealth mode. Cheers for all your hard work Nick, it is very much appreciated. Rick.
  8. Although, whilst you're looking this way, is there a way to get it running without the splash screen ? Thanks.
  9. OK , so it was a script error ( didn't have bWaitonReturn set to true ) it's working perfectly now. Sorry for wasting your time Nick. Rick.
  10. Hehe, think you're trying to support too many posts Nick. I'll recap as I haven't looked at the quota server stuff just yet, still stuck with the logon tracker. The MSI installs fine. If i run the script manually, logged on as admin, the database is updated. If i logon as teaching staff or pupil it runs ( no errors saying it doesn't exist or fails ) but the database isn't updated. I must have missed something with the server side permissions or firewall is blocking , not really sure but AV isn't blocking anything ( it's Symantec, it hardly reacts when there is an issue )
  11. We already have 3.5Sp1 and 4.0 on all machines ( SIMS.NET ) I need to see what it's doing really, are there any logging options on the msi ?
  12. Thanks again Nick, software runs but only works for admin. Added a software restriction policy to allow it but still nothing. I'll see if I can sort it out, must be permissions somewhere along the lines.
  13. Thanks Nick, I'll have a look at that today. Any words of wisdom concerning the Logon Tracker ? Server side is set up and I have no problems setting up logon scripts, it's just the client side software requirement. Rick.
  14. Hi all, I've had HAP running for quite a while as a file transfer system and that works fine but I've been asked to implement the Quotas and logon tracker and have gone blank so need help with the setups : Quotas: All servers have the Quota service on and running and in config servers are listed and drive set to H ( in capitals ). So do the servers need \\ first or not ? Do drives need to be H:\ or just H. As it stands, in the my school computer bit, there are just long green lines under each share. Also, I ticked the checkbox to show quotas on the main screen but they don't appear. Do I need to tweek something else ? Logon Tracker : I have setup a sql server and HAP can see it and is happy with it. Client side do i install the logon tracker msi to all machines or the User card msi ( as stated in the pdf, possibly a typo ? ) ? The scripts are simple enough but the client setup is a bit unclear. If anyone has a step by step for these I'd be most grateful. Rick.
  15. Registered , thanks for the help and support Nick. Just about to try the logon tracker now the site is stable.
  16. that seems to do the trick for me, thanks Nick.
  17. Yep, mine's identical except for the destination path after \hap\ Source File: c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\hap\55cd546f\70e6ba5a\App_Web_xwxtu3h5.4.cs Line: 0
  18. Same error except for this part Source Error: [No relevant source lines]
  19. Hi, I'm having the same issue. Just used the v7 to v7.8 upgrade and it broke. It's been running happily for months so it's something in the upgrade. The article above is 6 years old, for server 2003 and references a registry node that doesn't exist and a support page from microsoft that has been removed. Any additional help would be much appreciated. Rick.
  20. After reading around I decided to move HAP from the DC to the terminal server and the install went exactly as described in the pdf, no icacls or deleting lines ( except svg ) and Basic works fine now. Thanks for the quick response, it's a great app.
  21. After some testing at weekend it seems that uploading doesn't work at all, basic or advanced. Looks like some sort of permissions issue but not getting any errors from the event log. The announcement button doesn't work either.
  22. Thanks for the quick reply Nick, how the hell do you get any work done ? Hehe. Tried the reg tool with no success, it looks to me as though the Silverlight versions of upload and new folders are trying to run instead of the basic ones.
  23. I just mapped a drive to it using the setup program, in the hapconfig.xml it looks like this :
  24. We upgraded to Server 2008 in summer so I have had to re-install HAP and now I get the following when I click the upload button in Basic mode : I have the horrible feeling it's something simple that I've forgotten to do but can't see any problems in hapconfig.xml. Any ideas ? Just noticed the New Folder button doesn't work either
  25. Tried to build some of these with Linux ( Ubuntu and Fedora ) but had the same issue. No operating system found. I thought it was the grub loader but it looks like a weirder issue.
