Realised that SIMS drive on the server was manually mapped, I have disconnected it and restarted the server - all work fine now. Thank you.

Same problem here but adding paramenter - Pulsar.exe, got us further but now I am getting "Incorrect Connect.ini" error (though on the server SIMS runs fine). Anybody have any ideas about this one? Thank you.

I’ve got ZoneDirector 3000 with ZoneFlex 7363 APs. I have changed my IP addresses on the network and would like to change wpad.dat on ZoneDirector to point to new proxy server IP. I go to “Configure” – “WLANs”, click on “Edit” my WLAN, click “Advanced Settings” and in “Auto-Proxy” it set to Wpad.dat that is saved on ZoneDirector with address http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/uploaded/wpad.dat. I have downloaded current wpad.dat file, changed IP addresses and saved it on my PC and try to upload new wpad.dat file back to ZD, I get a warning that wpad file will be overwritten, clicked OK and there is no change. It would not replace the file. It seems that I cannot edit “/uploaded” directory on ZD. Is there a way of removing the wpad.dat file from ZoneDirector or somehow force it to replace it? Can wpad file be edited using Command Line Interface? Thank you.

Sorry, where is that? Is it in Configure - System - Device IP Settings - Access VLAN? It set for VLAN 1, as if I change to anything different (say VLAN 10) ZD just disappear from the network and I have to reset Access VLAN to 1 using CLI.

This is the way it setup, so why my ZD cannot see any APs? I am really confused.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The ZD connected to the switch, port set as Access, untagged VLAN 10. The APs are connected to the switch as Trunk with VLAN 1 untagged, VLAN 10, 20 and 30 - tagged. I have set the DNS record on the server but I'll double check it.

Hi All, Recently I’ve setup different VLANs on my network and would like to split internal and guest WLANs to two different VLANs. Ruckus ZoneDirector 3000 with ZoneFlex 7363 APs. Layer 3 switch does my routing, I’ve setup VLANs on my switches with correct gateway and IP Helper (I can connect to different VLANs and get an IP address from DHCP server and access the Internet). I would like to use VLAN 20 for internal laptops and VLAN 30 for guests. But I am having a lot of problems and hope that someone can point me in the right direction. I have tried different settings combinations but my Zonedirector just cannot see any of my APs. Quick configuration overview: Three VLANs – 10 (PCS), 20 (Internal Wireless), 30 (Guest Wireless). On the controller: Configure – System – Set an IP address for Zonedirector on VLAN 10 with correct Gateway and DNS, Access VLAN 1 (if I set an IP from VLAN 20 and/or set Access VLAN to anything apart from VLAN 1 – Zonedirector becomes inaccessible), port on the switch that Zonedirector connected to is set to VLAN 10. Configure – WLANs -2 WLANs. Internal set NO to Isolate traffic, Access VLAN 20. Guest set NO to Isolate traffic, Access VLAN 30. Configure – Access Points – All of previously (connected before I’ve set up VLANs) connected APs are showing. Access Point Group – just one group with all APs. In Port Setting option – set LAN3 connection to “Trunk Port” with Untag ID set to 1. Monitor – Access Points- All Access Points show as Disconnected. Ports on the switch that APs connected to are set to Trunk, with VLAN 1 – Untagged; VLAN 10, 20 and 30 – Trunk. I would really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Yes, it is set as part of VLAN. On Smoothwall - go to Network - Routing - Subnets, I set all my VLANs with gateways but no success. :-( I might give Smoothwall a ring.

That's great, configuring it now. But on my 3560 how should I configure the port that Smoothwall connects to - "no switchport"? Thanks

Hi all, Hopefully a quick question. I’ve got a network I would like to split into several VLANs, I access the Internet via a Smoothwall box. I’ve got cisco 3560 switch and several VLANs configured on the switch, including gateways. VLANs are talking to my DHCP server fine. But the question is: can I connect my Smoothwall to my 3560 and access the Internet from my VLANs? I tried few different options for port that Smoothwall connects to (I’ve set it as Layer 3 – no switchport, I’ve set it as one of VLANs) but it doesn’t work. I can ping Smootwall box from VLANs (so 3560is routing the traffic to it ) and I can ping Google from 3560 switch but no Internet accee from VLANs. Is there a way of setting it up or 3560 does not support that? Thanks.

Hi All, We have been buying Chromebooks at a rate of knots, they are fast, reliable with brilliant battery life, not even mentioning the Google Classroom bit. As so many pupils are using them now it makes sense to use Chromebooks for exams, especially for pupils with access arrangement. But I’m struggling to find a way to do that, so does anybody use Chromebooks for exams or looking into it or can point me in a right direction? I have tried couple of different ways to do it but neither is reliable or relatively easy to setup. First one is using Google Forms with Public Session, though it is relatively easy to setup but that does not give you “Save” or “Print” functionality and work can potentially be lost during exam (I don’t think we can risk that). The other way I looked at is to use the Google Classroom but it a lot harder to lock down the internet access (as when pupils set up a new document it creates a unique link to it). We can create an “Exam User” and setup Classroom document for them but it will mean a lot of manual work and I don’t think that it’s the way forward. So, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's all fixed now. Had to get ABtutor support to have a look. And yes between older version of ABtutor and some badly setup policies all the problems happened. The only thing is 150 registry hijacks are unexplained, though the ABtutor support chap said that it could be false positives from bad ABtutor policies. So, no more policies set be teachers and yes - keep on top with updates! Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone, I think I've found the problem! It is ABtutor but it's not the Internet block policies as instead of blocking access, it was pushing 127.0.0.1 proxy with random port on different machines. This particular teacher very often pushes her screen to pupil machines for demonstration. She just went to different IT room (different hardware and setup) and the same thing happened again and as I mentioned earlier ABtutor restarts every time I remove the 127.0.0.1 proxy. So, I just uninstalled ABtutor from three machines and they back to normal!!! We are on the phone to ABtutor at the moment. Will keep you posted. Thanks.
