As some may have seen on Twitter other sites Veeam 6.5 has now been released including the Exchange explorer and also San Snapshot explorer. For anybody on a 6.x license its free.

No - well not the paid for version anyway. Veeam creates a snapshot of the vm and then takes a copy of the orginal disks using Change block tracking (to make incremental backups super quick). Onces its finished it commits the snapshot back. It also supports replication to a DR site.

A good business case for Businesses when looking to intergrate more with the cloud - for schools possibly not.

the grey ones help with dark grey better. but even so I just think it's still too bright. office 2010 looks better imho.

Ah ok - have EMBC given you a copy of the zone they have? I just know when i did it there was some old records I didn't know existed (point to various odd bits) so is worth double checking that. And No you are right as long as its a uk domain with a tag its easy. .Com's are a pita

I can't comment on that but TBH you don't want them to change the name servers over yet. You want them to transfer the tag to new provider provide you with a DNS zone, make the changes to it and then put on your new nameservers. Then with new provider change the nameserver records with nominet. As they may change them over to a dns server which doesnt have a full record.

Thats where we speced it from. I might give them a call see what they say. It defiantly works as i can see it in another machine. I've put a partition table on it aswell incase that made a difference.. no

I have to say my 256 Samsung 830 cost me 116 in the amazon sale a couple of weeks back and its quicker then my M4 i have at home but thats a small 64gb i bought 18 months ago

tried that - doesn't work in AHCI or Compatability mode which these lenovo's have. If I put the SSD in another machine it works fine just not this T410!

Neither have we - Can't see them with C2000 or the likes think we are just going to think of another way to do it!

Trying to install one of these SSD's in a Lenovo T410 - The laptop doesn't pick the device up as an HDD (I can't see it picking it up at all). Any ideas what to try? I've updated both firmware of SSD and Motherboard but no avail.

Possibly but no longer. I've only been involved with it for 7 months or so. They only provide the Single software now (DSS Versions 6/7 ) and its upgrade bolt on suchs as ISCSi failover.

thats true - i'm not sure. I have ESXI running from SD cards but it doesn't write much to them.

Oh yes appreciate that - if i can't find the SD card slot will probably go with something like this The reason for SD card was that its a tried and test method in what we want to use it for. Whereas the above sata dom is untested.

Thats the kind of thing. That will fit in a normal PCI slot won't it? I wonder if I can screw it into a full high plate. You will kill the SD card i think - too many writes.

I have to agree on the 2Dness although if there is the ability to change it would be good. Will put on a VM first and then if I like it on my laptop.
