Hi Guys To answer you both in turn:- 1. Those recovery options are already set and yes the service just locks. However, It does generate an event ID, so I was looking for a piece of VB script that will look for the ID and restart my two services. 2. As the problem can occur at random, having the batch file will not catch it unless it locks just before the timed restart.

Tarquel I hope this explains things a little more:- We already have a plan in place to move to Exchange 2010 in the summer. However, between now then we have an issue where the Information Store or the MTA stack stops responding. This is a known issue to Microsoft and they have recommended moving from 2003 !!! The problem is our Head is not prepared to wait in the mornings for me to get in and manually restart the services. So what I need to know is to how to monitor the application event log for errors and restart the offending MS Exchange service automatically.

The VLE we are using is based on Moodle, where you can upload and edit plus add hard coded pages. No API's will be used as we will be changing our VLE in September, so the code has to "stand alone". Hope this helps

Thanks for taking a look. The "component" will be used in a VLE where the content will be driven a bunch of files.

The following should answer your questions:- Q. Does it have to be flash? A. Yes, as I don't believe the same result can be achieved any other way, ie xml control file, clickable images, etc. Q. Where is it going to be used? A. Initially the component will be used on a micro site displaying showing 9 different countries. Each country will then have 6 changing images displaying various locations/ monuments etc. relating to that country. However, other projects have already been identified where the component would be used. Q. Is the component to be square, with square images inside, or a different shape? A. Yes, it will be a square, with square images inside. Q. Are the 9 small images to be touching or is there to be a border between them? A. The 9 small images will be touching. Q. Are the images to be compiled in to the Flash object itself, or would they be external images on the same web server that would be listed by the XML file and loaded by the component? A. The images would be external images held in a directory on the same server. The images would be loaded by the component via an xml file Q. When the small pictures change, are they to cross fade from one to the next, do some sort of slecial "twiddle" effect, or simply change? A. The requirement is for a simple change. However, if the component could fade the images it would be a nice to have. Hope the above helps

All I'm looking for a flash component that displays 9 different images (on a 3x3 grid) that will automatically change each one in turn. This has to happen at least 6 times for each image. Once all 9 images have been changed 6 times, the whole grid turns into a single image, waits for a few seconds and then starts the whole process again. Ideally the images and timings would be controlled by an xml file. Does anyone know of such a component, or a developer that will it it together for me

Having checked the settings and the polices everything is as it should be. I have even been on to the suppliers of the app and their stumped too.

I have recently deployed a web based password change/reset app, which seems to be working well!! Perhaps a little to well. It generates random passwords, hooks into AD with no issues, doesn't need a csv file of current users. etc etc. The problem I'm now facing is that refuses to change the password due to the following error "The password does not meet the password policy requirements." Now as we're predominately a primary school, There is no policy!! I certainly don't recall setting one up, In fact i'm sure I turned it off. The kids can have passwords as long or as short as they like and there set never to expire. So I'm stuck and I have no idea where to look to either set up / turn off the password policy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We're running Windows 2008 and IIS7 Thanks in advance

I'm currently using a MS 2008 Server as my print server with PaperCut NG installed. Although PaperCut records the jobs printed it does retain the printed documents. Currently there is a dispute over a printed item, the item in question was not saved but has caused alot of upset. So my question is two fold. 1. Is there a way of recalling the printed document so to end the dispute 2. Is there a way of keeping all printed material over a given period

We're moving all the pupils to thin client devices and I'm trying to persuade the powers at be to use "instant on" tablets for the staff:pray2:. However, as with most things they won't let go of the money. I do like the SSD drive idea though

All Just a quick question to find out what your experience is with XP machines connected to a 2008 server environment. Currently it takes 3 minutes 30 seconds from switch on to use and and a further minute to fire up outlook. I personally don't think this is excessive but I'm reliably informed by "teachers" this is too long and needs to be sped up. There are two additional scripts that run when a user logs in the first maps their network drives and the other maps their printers depending on the location of the machine they are using. AD takes care of their H: drive. So is 3 minutes 30 seconds to long?

In a nutshell i have 4 banners that need to be rotated. The desired effect is that each banner fades in and out as they are displayed.

Morning All, I have to build a flash banner for one of our intranet, so i'm seeking your advice. What application would you recommend to build a flash banner quickly? I have no flash experience so the simpler the better.
