What if I change the max password age value from 90 days to 180 days? And then reducing the value when people return to say 90 days again. Would this work better than having to bulk set to "password does not expire" method?

Does setting that reset the password age property on the account? SO when I untick will they all be expired at the end of the summer?

This school year we implemented a password restriction policy. Part of the policy states that users must change their passwords every 90 days. With summer break coming up, which is roughly 3 months, we are worried that many accounts will be locked out during that time. What would happen if we changed the max password age to 0 on the last day, then changed it back to 90 towards the end of summer?

We have a 2003 Domain with 2003 R2 File Servers Currently using DFS on the 2003 File Servers Looking to expand our storage. How can we install a new 2008 File Server, move all the 2003 Data from the 2003 to 2008 file server with the larger storage? Is it a matter of just adding the 2008 server as a new target and having the data replicate off? I've seen mentions of Robocopy and the FSMT from microsoft? What is the best way to accomplish this?

We use group policy and place Machines in OU's and use the VBS mapping scripts listed here.

We have an old domain xyz.org (old non-exchange mail server) that users no longer use and we're using forwarding to xyz.com from this old mail server. Is there a way for exchange (xyz.com) to take over xyz.org so all mail coming to .org will get forwarded to the .com? Allowing the old mail server to be retired?

All I can say is... thank the lord for VNC. I'm in a small surbuban district in NJ. 2 Elementary Schools, Admin Office and High School/Middle School Combined Bldg. Roughly 2000 enrollment, 750 or so desktops, not many laptops maybe 20 for staff. It's just me and a Network Admin who unofficaily serves as a director, (has the pay but not the title) We also have a "tech coordiator" (teacher) for each building. They help out when they can , but we really need at least a part time dedicated tech for each building. The teacher's knowledge is limited and they dont' have the time. We're upgrading our bandwidth this year to 10 Megs out to the net and 10 between the buildings. Also looking at Citirix Xen Server and virtualitzing. IT also manages a 1000 seat performing art center, (lighting and sound) (new facility) It has it perks but can get stressfull. And yes, we're understaffed.
