  1. export DHCP database https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/281626/how-to-use-the-netsh-utility-to-export-and-import-dhcp-scopes
  2. Transfer FSMO Roles https://www.dtonias.com/transfer-fsmo-roles-domain-controller/
  3. This is for Server 2016 Core but the process will be very similar for 2019 https://www.ntweekly.com/2017/09/27/promote-windows-server-core-2016-domain-controller-using-powershell/
  4. if you choose to migrate that means you will have 2 DCs in the domain... you add it as a second DC then it will replicate AD over so both are domain controlers... then once it has replicated across you can then move all the FSMO Roles over to the new 2019 DC then demote the old one yes 2008R2 and 2019 DCs can co-exist... once you have got rid of the 2008R2 you can raise the Forest and Domain Function level up to 2019 you cant have DCs lower OS version than the Domain or Forest level. ill try and find some guides... ive done it to often now over the years... its second nature... Edit i just did some googling and you will need to enable SMB 1.0 on the 2019 server to add it to a 2008R2 domain which seems a bit wiered as 2008R2 supports SMB 2 - but once your all migrated you definatley want to turn that back off on all of your servers and workstations.. you shouldnt need SMB1 anymore... https://serverfault.com/questions/955401/how-to-add-windows-2019-server-to-2008-r2-and-migrate-dc
  5. if you go down the migration route... create the new Hyper-V server add it to the domain... add a new Virtual and Promote it to a DC with DNS.... Move the FSMO Roles to the new DC... move the DHCP role acoross you can backup and restore the DB quite easily change DNS to point to new server on anything thats static and as options in DHCP... demote the old DC.... then create new servers and move other stuff... Edit: going forward you probably want 2 DCs
  6. If you have lots of Users and Computers then maybe migration would be more seamless from a users persective. if youre estate is small and your happy to reset everything up then it might be neater for you to start again.
  7. have you seen this thread? related http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/205011-slow-printing-adobe-dc-flattening.html
  8. we dont have a problem with LTSC and our staff laptops using 802.1X radius auth on Ruckus WiFi....
  9. We currently use LTSC after moving away from Education.... when we are forced back to Edu by o365 or Visual Studio then we will cross that bridge when we come to it.... i like LTSC
  10. Strange.... i dont like it when things arent logical!
  11. for one drive have a look at this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/205202-onedrive-sync-client-per-machine-install.html

  13. No we use local profiles
  14. We use FOG we just register the host in FOG and image it... obviously initial setup etc of FOG is time consuming but when we get a new pc its litrally a case of network booting it registering it and telling what image to lay down... then FOG does the rest puts it in AD etc... there are lots of other systems SCCM and WDS...
  15. yes we copy delprof2.exe to the windows folder via GPO and as a startup script run it with /d:10 /u i havent redirected AppData
  16. probably the first person registered to vote at each address i know thats what my party did or used to in GEs past then the second leaflet would usually have the second person listed on the register
  17. Have you tried this?.... put a computer name you can RD into and set the gateway explicitly you should then see a connection under the monitoring...
  18. I'm curious about my actuall ward last time we had Euros they just published the results for the whole of Gloucester.... i want to sample the boxes in my patch.... out of curiosity if nothing else... sad i know..... Edit i just looked and we didnt even publish them as a city i think now from memory the district had to call them in to pourtsmouth where all the South West were collated and the results were published for the seat as a whole which in my case is the South West...
  19. we just use Local Profiles the one and only really annoying thing for us is outlook since MS droped the office customization of outlook profiles for our exchange server... i keep thinging of turning UE-V back on but i may wait till the newer profile manager becomes a thing... we have not used romaing profiles for years (since XP) and always just use local ones back in windows 7 days again years ago we did use a older version of UE-V....
  20. in the Gateway manager can you see connections under the monitoring tab.... and i know its possibly a stupid question but under connection Authiraztion policies and Resource Authorization policies you have the users and the servers listed...
  21. I've asked to be a counting agent on the sunday 26th because im curious how the people in my patch will vote :-s
  22. i know that i am entitled to my Wards register as a local councillor....
  23. usually the first person on the register gets the first piece of election material, and then if a second one is sent (often is during a GE) the second person on the register at that address is used... i believe all parties get a free delivery or 2 from royal mail during an election...
  24. this is what they show up in my VLSC as: our staff count is 99 Product Pool Sorted in ascending order License Product Family Sort column License Version Effective Quantity Unresolved Quantity Active SA Quantity Servers Windows Remote Desktop Services - User CAL 2019 99 0 99 Servers Windows Remote Desktop Services External Connector 2019 1 0 1
  25. we disable the wireless interface in device manager on the exam latops.
