did you open mdt afterwards and update the deploymentshare ?
-
what version of adk is the server running? and mdt update one is an older version now the current version is needed iirc for newer versions of windows 10 as is the newer adk that goes with it. also if the laptop has uefi boot i think wds/mdt needs 2012r2 for that to work correctly iirc

i think ive now basically finished with xenoblade 2 (just finished my new game plus runthrough still odds and ends to do but most of them require more rng luck than i seem to have with that game) so im debating playing sot, burnout paradise remastered or farcry 5 next or possibly the dumbest idea ever and trying to platinum persona 5
-
thats why im using gamepass not buying it tbh
-
so anyone got this game/interested in playing it? Im just going to use my gamepass trial to give it a go but dont see the point of doing it singled player beyond learning the mechanics
-
i used to then once i deployed chrome everywhere as edge sucks i got so used to chrome i see few reasons to go back i dont think i even installed it on my laptop when i got it and my desktop it only got loaded when i clicked it by accident

because of the earths spin. As i understand it to get back to land would take a lot more fuel so weight which needs more fuel (repeat to fade) lannding in the ocean (or further east iirc) uses a lot less fuel but there just isnt any land to land on hence a barge

from memory (its been a while) if you already have office 365 setup (dosent need users just need to exist iirc) you can go https://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8d30-7c6e01e6022e put in a school email address and thats about it follow the prompts (if it cant verify you as a school use your onmicrosoft address instead of @school.sch and that should be about all you need to do i diddnt ever have to deal with people my school got the vls from

inventry seems to work well in the schools i support that have it. plugs into sims but they dont seem to like replacing faulty hardware had one with a dodgy nic for ages they kept saying it was a cabling fault even when that machine worked with a usb nic on the same cable as the internal diddnt like (as did everything else i plugged into it) not sure about cached data to a tablet though

whats the point of tpm only if someone nicks the laptop its unencrypted by turning it on it just stops people removing the drive/altering boot sequence order
-
its been a while since i looked at applocker i gave it up as a bad job it seemed to cause me many more issues than it solved sorry
-
you haven't got applocker policies applied have you as in my experience they seem to be once set they stay applied whatever you do to the pc short of a rebuild.
-
id jsut try it on a vm at this point windows 10 (1709 at least) hyper v allows you to use fake tpm to test this stuff with and thats handy saves a lot of prating around with real pcs. i suspect on that laptop you may need to do some manage-bde and remove protectors that way as it did odd things to me when i mdt built a pc when the policies applied to it were contradictory. i never lost the control panel stuff but it wouldnt let me encrypt the drive jsut kept complaining about stuff (sorry i cant remember the specifics) iirc i had to remove some protectors
-
thats what i thought but i had to create 2 policies/ous one for laptops with tpm one for those without. you can just set all to allow but then im not sure what settigns that laptop will get
-
i think id start a new ou and get a test machine and try settings a few at a time but theres your problem id bet you have Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM ticked but Require startup PIN with TPM selected as well. those settings are odd if you want require a pin and tpm everything else has to be set to do not allow or even if the wizard shows it will bomb out saying basically you cant apply a contradictory policy as to why you cant see the bitlocker options i dont know i suspect control panel; access is restricted somewhere rather than bitlocker itself maybe you have a policy to only show specif control panel applets set
-
what about if you log in as local admin have you somehow removed the option with gpo? might be worth running rsop/rsop and seeing exactly what policies are applied to the machine maybe theres some other settings somewhere else
-
have you actually encrypted the drive as gpo alone will just put settings there so you can you need to right click the drive and encrypt and follow any prompts for password etc. Its easy to create a gpo for bitlocker that dosent work as it has conflicting settings usually the require additional authentication at startup settings. if you set them wrong you are effectively asking it to do mutually exclusive things and when you try to encrypt the drive it will fail. as for encrypting as part of the imaging process id test the gpos before doing that as i did the above mistake and it took me ages to get the drive to encrypt as it wrote info to it that was wrong and i had to mess around with manage-bde powershell to remove encryption options that had failed. you also to deploy it as part of a task sequence (at least in mdt) need to have a tpm chip

Did you ever turn an old laptop in to a Chromebook?
sted replied to ChrisERoots's topic in ChromeOS & Cloud Based OS
ive converted 6 or so old tosh netbooks. they still take forever to boot but just dont turn em off. its better than windows on those devices but not much -
