  1. Hi, Forgive me if under wrong head....happy to be corrected. Our LEA migrated to OpenHive just before Easter and in May my ability to use the inbuilt FTP publish in NetObjects Fusion (2012) and Serif WebPlus (x6) stopped working. At time of writing we are at week 10 of investigation into this issue. Does anyone in other LEAs using OpenHive have the same issues? Or if not can you publish via internal FTP from web authoring programs without FTP advanced config. And if in West Sussex - and you can publish from web authoring programs without FTP advanced config - how did you get around the issue? Cheers Dave
  2. Virtual PC is on my list of next things to try (but trying to avoid) Have tried in various XP modes in compatability options
  3. Yes I know Story Telling Alice is old software - but it does just what we want. Or it did until we moved to Windows 7. Would really appreciate any suggestions as to solution or workaround that does not require old pupils having admin rights At the moment will only run with full Admin rights (either via run as or logged on as) - clearly not a place I want to be. Have read many forums - tried various permission changes on folders et al - but only runs to a point - changes screen colour - shows as running process in task Manager - then give this Java error Alice version: Storytelling Alice 10/01/2007 os.name: Windows NT (unknown) os.version: 6.1 os.arch: x86 java.vm.name:Java HotSpot™ Client VM java.vm.version: 1.5.0_05-b05 user.dir: C:\StorytellingAlice\Required java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Array index out of range: 4 at java.util.Vector.get(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicDirectoryModel.getElementAt(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicListUI.updateLayoutState(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicListUI.maybeUpdateLayoutState(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicListUI.getCellBounds(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JList.getCellBounds(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JList.ensureIndexIsVisible(Unknown Source) at sun.swing.FilePane.ensureIndexIsVisible(Unknown Source) at sun.swing.FilePane.doDirectoryChanged(Unknown Source) at sun.swing.FilePane.propertyChange(Unknown Source) at java.beans.PropertyChangeSupport.firePropertyChange(Unknown Source) at java.beans.PropertyChangeSupport.firePropertyChange(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.firePropertyChange(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JFileChooser.setCurrentDirectory(Unknown Source) at edu.cmu.cs.stage3.alice.authoringtool.dialog.ExportCodeForPrintingContentPane.(ExportCodeForPrintingContentPane.java:147) at edu.cmu.cs.stage3.alice.authoringtool.AuthoringTool.dialogInit(AuthoringTool.java:603) at edu.cmu.cs.stage3.alice.authoringtool.AuthoringTool.(AuthoringTool.java:385) at edu.cmu.cs.stage3.alice.authoringtool.JAlice.main(JAlice.java:132) Our PCs W 7 Pro 64 bit Alice exe from alice.org
  4. Up date: robots and thin clients working well all week - but today thin clients refused to recognise the robots VM Guest rebpooted overnight - wondering why usb would be so unreliable Any thoughts as to where to look next?
  5. Thanks for comments Gill, my value proposition is based on buying what I need and therefore the extras that I don't need have no value. Accept not paying for CDs is a saving - but this brings Corel into line with most other vendors I deal with (in fact most now offer downloads rather than media).
  6. Sorry fat fingers or old age Should have ready XP Pro SP3
  7. Am having issues with our Lego NXT Robots running via thin clients and XP - seems to have stopped recognising the devices. Have tried new (latest) version of Mindstorms NTX Software 2.1 Thin Clients are Wyse V10L Host is XP SP2 using Linked Clones VMWare is v4 My next steps check firmware on robots and wyse devices Would value any thoughts - and just to make it interesting the issue only affects some Robots / Thin Clients - which is pervse given I am cloning
  8. front of class tech - have school full of old projectors on last legs, lamps are expensive, whiteboard pens failing and most class rooms have to close the binds to use the whiteboards. So looklng with open mind at alternatives - Short Throw, LED, LFDs - prior to making budget bid.
  9. Have just received our 2012 Corel renewal (corel draw, paintshop pro, painter). We're on a Primary Site Licence and find the costs have increased by 167% Yes they have added extras into the package. But 167% increase? Am I alone? Dave
