Has anyone produced a list of key problems/issues or a list of key benefits they have found with Pearson's E1 product? I have seen another thread and it seems to have been very negatively received on the whole but there are no lists of specific issues. I do not want to form an opinion without specifics. It may be that there are many very satisfied users out there too and I would like to try to get a balanced picture. It would save me SO much time if someone has a list to hand!! Many thanks. Specifically, has anyone attempted to develop a school management information system using open source? Generally, can anyone flag up what they think the positives and negatives are with regard to open source development?

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has moved to a new MIS system (SIMS, Serco, PASS) from any other application. What was the other MIS you used, what were its failings and and what have you found when moving to the new System? Many thanks.
