  1. We are currently on Bromcom. Nothing official yet but I've been asked to provide a list of incidents to be passed onto the head. I suspect we might look at alternatives when it is due for renewal. I see quite a few have ticked "other" with the alternatives they are considering. Would be interested to know what these are. Been quite a few alternatives launched recently.
  2. Big Framework event yesterday: - Framework 13 Pro - Panther Lake, LPCAMM2, Haptic Trackpad, Bigger Battery - Framework 16 - One Piece Haptic Trackpad, Transparent Bezel, OCuLink Dev Kit - Framework Wireless Touchpad Keyboard
  3. UniFi? Has their firewall actually improved now? I've not seen much praise in the past for their firewall products. Cloud filter is great if you can enforce it on every device. Can be trickier on BYOD devices.
  4. Yeah not really a competitor to cheap Chromebooks. Interested to get one in to test with a teacher. Dell, HP are really jacking up the prices recently. Never thought I would see the day when apple would be the cheaper option!
  5. Whatever you get I would go for integrated USB-C charging. Every trolley we have done has always ended up looking trashed no matter how carefully you zip tie everything in. My favourite trolleys so far have to be the ones from Ergotron. Same company that has made Dell branded ones.
  6. Thank you! I've found the offending gpo.
  7. I've got a weird thing going on with folder redirection. I have setup folder redirection for our exam accounts. When checking the windows event logs it is failing to complete the redirection. The reason being that the path is pointing to a different file server. Aside from the file server name the path is correct. The home directory in AD is pointing to the correct file server. Anyone had a similar issue like this before?
  8. Appreciate it but most of the rollercoaster of events has been in my private life. I did find that there is CMI and ILM. Both seem to require some sort of course and class based learning. I'm used to just reading a book and doing the exam like with Prince2, ITIL and the various Microsoft certs. Rather painfully expensive as well so will have to park this idea for now.
  9. We use CCX600 on reception and mostly CCX400 for all other staff.
  10. The last few years have been a bit of a rollercoaster to put it mildly. Received a demotion from IT manager at the current school I work at. It's only been in name only so thankfully hasn't affected pay. Looking into what training might help before I look to move on. Can anyone recommend management training that would look good on my CV?
  11. It's not been an issue in my experience. It's fairly rare for teachers to be contacted on their direct numbers. Reception/Admin staff take the brunt of the calls. For most teachers it's been more about making outgoing calls than receiving them. If it is an issue you can just set your status to busy.
  12. Working my way through Death Stranding at the moment. Just picked up the new Dying Light game last night. Can't wait to get into that as I loved the first one.
  13. I have found the phone system offered by Microsoft Teams to be fairly good. It is nice to have something that is integrated with Teams. I'm not aware of integration with the MIS. We use Poly handsets and they have been pretty reliable. Less so with Yealink phones.
