  1. We have purchased and are planning to trial using this software this year (trial exams starting soon) - previously using EWP and then Read&Write for students with a Reader/Dictation requirement. So far it was simple enough to set-up and deploy, and a fraction of the cost of Read&Write. Nice to have one piece of software to handle everything for consistency.
  2. Thanks, I think we have worked out that some of our students were appearing on this year's Google Classrooms which was generating the guardian summaries. I've begun to start working with the Classroom API to make the oversight and managing of this a bit easier, I find the Google admin console is fairly limited as to what it can do.
  3. Anyone on here a wizard with Google Classroom, and specifically Google Guardian Summaries? We are having a few reports this year that parents of student leavers are still receiving Google Guardian summaries, despite the students google accounts being disabled. From my understanding, as they are disabled there is no activity and therefore nothing to send a guardian summary for, is this correct? We use Salamander to generate all our classrooms from our MIS, and to archive at the end of each academic year. TIA
  4. It will depend on those settings in their tenancy as to whether you need to add your domain to their allowlist. From the sounds of your situation, you will need: 'Which classes can users in your domain join' - Set to Classes in allowlisted domains in your tenancy 'Who can join classes in your domain?' - Set to either a) Users in allowlisted domains, should you add your domain to their allowlist, or b) Any Google Workspace User (meaning any workspace account can be invited to the classrooms regardless of domain). We have had to do this before within our MAT for central staff, so it should work once all set-up. Happy to elaborate.
  5. I assume you have been able to check the Classroom settings in Google Admin within each google workspace tenancy? I believe you will need to add your domain as an allowlisted domain in the other individual tenancy's, or adjust the Google Classroom settings to allow users to join any google workspace classroom (under Google Admin > Apps > Classroom). Their are two different settings: One which controls who can Join your tenancy's classrooms, and the second which controls who's classes your tenancy's users can join.
  6. Ah, we use a proxy server so filling in these details seemed to fix most issues for us. I'd agree that it's not the most intuitive piece of software. I've never used this, but if you run Google Workspace, there is a company called Treslon that offer a solution (Dictation / Reader, along with other bits and bobs). Not something I've ever used or could comment on though, I just know of them.
  7. We use both the reader and dictation features to support exams. Now it's working, the SEN team find it great but it was a nightmare to get working. It would freeze when using the dictate feature and crashed when toggling on/off. It turned out to be a proxy issue. There is a config file called 'ReadAndWrite.exe.config', which has some proxy settings at the bottom, playing around with this eventually got it to work and we have no problems now. It's worth using the debug mode to see what is happening, and a bit of trial and error. I'm not sure if this is an older config, but it worked for me. It's also worth noting that it does require 'Online Speech Recognition' to be on to work also.
