Hi all, I'm having a nightmare with Adobe CC this year. As I normally do, I've downloaded the suite as one package and tried to deploy via both SCCM and intune, the package kept failing. SCCM logs showed that the cache size was too small which made sense. So I increased the cache size however it kept freezing, no real log to go off of. Since April 2025, Adobe has suggest packages to be a maximum of 8GB, so I went ahead and installed every app separately. Cut a long story short, Photoshop has been causing the problem. My issue now is that I've created multiple Photoshop packages, re downloaded numerous times, yet when unzipping the zip file an error keeps occurring which I'd assume is causing the issue. Is anyone else have these issues? We have a K12 license and shared.

I'm going to be in the same hole. We're moving to InTune for cyber security reasons. Just got to grips with SCCM and have managed to automate all applications/drivers depending on room numbers. Practically zero touch like you've said other than entering LDAP info. Cant wait(!)

This is encouraging to hear as we will be deploying InTune soon and have 1:1 laptops for staff members & shared laptops for students. You're saying to forget user level policies, does this include installation as well which only apply to a users first logon? E.g. Computer Science student whom logs in to find that Visual Studio 2022 is installed.

What's the length of the waiting period? I'm surprised that a newer SAAS such as intune has a wait period which "older legacy" AD does instantaneously.

Fantastic that makes sense. Are there anything else you would recommend I look into other than automation of application depending on departments/room numbers? I wanted to look into breaking down our naming convention further. Currently doing the following with the asset number added to the end: WD = desktop, WL = laptop, WS = server. I wanted to break down laptops to WL = student laptops and WT = teacher/business staff laptops. The reason for this is because we're finding teachers that tend to damage a laptop and then just swap it with one in a classroom with the same spec. I was hoping to create some sort of policy which will stop staff from logging into student machines and vice a versa (other than a few exceptions such as IT staff members).

Hi Boredguy, This is what I've been worried about for quite some time. We will be moving from SCCM to InTune. Tell a lie, I believe we will be Hybrid joining. It's great to hear that you're able to pre install applications such as Adobe Reader. This is what I currently do in our "Golden Image" on SCCM. What I was wondering was if those applications that are being pre installed are still patchable when a new update comes out? What I've found was that an application on our Golden Image would difficult to patch, whereas an application installed via Task Sequence is as simple as creating a new up-to-date application and replacing it in the task sequence. Also, is it quite a simple process to pre-install these applications? Apologies, if what i'm saying isn't making sense. I've kind of just got to grips with SCCM and managed to automate applications based on room numbers during LDAP input and using one single task sequence for ALL machines (I came into this role as a apprentice and there were 4 different task sequence, Yikes!). Now we're changing everything due to wanting to become Cyber Security compliant. Thanks

We've got Phillips Brilliance 241B's. I've tried using amazon cheapo DP -> HDMI adapters. Maybe the junk I've bought is of inferior quality. Can you both send me a link to the stuff you're using please? @Rob_D @Cazab

The docking monitors we have are great in the office. A single USB c rules them all. If only there were monitors that had a "HDMI out" rather than "DP out". Our rooms currently have HDMI going from the screen/projector to the teachers desk. We have approx. 140 teaching rooms.

Hi All, This is my first post so forgive me for any rules that I may be breaking. Had a career switch and came into IT approx. 2 years ago. Back then we had desktop units per classroom for the teacher. Over the last 2 years we've got ourselves to a point where now we have "docking monitors" and each staff member has their own laptop. A teacher is expected to go into a room and connect to the docking monitor via USB C and project to the Interactive Panel/Projector via HDMI. As you can imagine, the sheer number of pulling HDMI in and out is causing wear and tear to the port as well as the HDMI. What I'd like is to have 1 USB C which connects to all screens. 2 Solutions: -Buy the following docking station to connect all connections, however be prone to it being disconnected and it being "borrowed" -We have docking monitors which have a "DP out" functionality. I've tried this with a DisplayPort from the Interactive Panel to the docking monitor, however windows doesn't recognise it (even at 30Hz). However it does work for my setup with 2 monitors in the office (maybe length of the 15m cable is the issue) Anyone got any better ideas or tested these ideas out? Thanks Muazzam
