Interesting thread. We have a Konica Minolta with Papercut MF, and the default interface has p**sed me off for as long as we've had it. Never knew anything about i-options, even when I spoke to our rep about how bad the interface was compared to the Kyocera copiers we also have papercut on. Those pictures look just like the interface on the Kyocera's, which we've never had any problem with. Our kit is up for refresh in the summer, and I'd already decided we were not getting KM again, because of the interface. If i-options is the answer, I'll think again. (especially as everyone likes the banners our KM will print)

I've got a similar set up in our canteen displaying the menu each day. The kitchen staff edit a plain text file on a share they have permission to and Xibo (or possibly a php page) displays it nicely on a background. Simple enough?

Not as I understand it. 18148 was the "quick and dirty" patch, which changes the refresh interval of the homepage timeline thing to 30 mins. 18180 is the "proper" patch, that optimizes the SQL queries run on the server. Personally, I did both, and have noticed little improvement. Your mileage may vary. I would still do both, however, as the refresh interval being set at 5 mins (as per the original Spring release) is downright stupid. What changes that much during a day?

Just thought I'd chip in here. Performance of my SIMS server has been diabolical since the Spring release. I applied patch 18148 last week Tuesday evening, and performance was much better, but only for one day Last night, I've applied the new patch 18180, and yet this morning, once all the teachers turned up to work, my server is sat at 100% cpu again (as attached). I'm well aware my server is not the most powerful beast around, but it was just fine until this release. What actual benefit did these home page changes actually bring anyone anyway?

I knew I'd forget some important piece of information: Wifi is WPA2-PSK (Its a Meru infrastructure). The original laptop in question is a samsung, imaged with a vanilla Win7 Ent SP1 image, with only a few drivers added (and office etc) No Wifi utilities or anything, just Windows managing the connection. And I have loads mroe of the same model laptop, with the same image that (at the moment...) are working fine. The teacher laptops that are now suffering the same fate are Compaqs with Win7 Pro SP1, but have all the HP/Compaq carp they came with (They were set up before I started here, and I haven't got round to re-imaging them yet).

Ok, so I've found tricks, tips and solutions for all sorts of things on these boards before, but now it appears it may be time to ask for help... Yesterday a laptop turned up in the office that was misbehaving: Win7 Enterprise says it is connected to our wireless network, but wont map drives or get on the internet. On further investigation, it has correct IP address from DHCP, but cannot ping servers or the gateway. It resolves the addresses though. (In fact, it can ping two 2008R2 servers, but not most of the others). If I restart the WLAN AutoConfig service, it starts pinging servers properly, but only for a minute, then stops working again. If I connect ethernet cable, everything works fine. I re-imaged the laptop, and it suffers the same problems straight away (other laptops with this same image are working fine). This morning I got in to discover I now have two teachers, with different manufacturer laptops (and incidentally running win7 Pro rather than Enterprise) that seem to be suffering the same problem. Any ideas? Mark.
