I'm at the point where i kind of know what to do i.e. how to make the class sites and then assign them but surely there is an easier way to do this or an automatic way to do this other wise there is going to be a lot of pages i will need to create. Also where do i get cmis webparts from? i don't know where to start with the cmis part

Hi all I need the help of anyone that uses sharepoint and the sharepoint mlg kits. I understand sharepoint and i've gotten quite far with its development but i'm up to a point were i need to be able to - 1 - make the class's, do i need to make these manually? can they just be picked up from cmis? 2 - show attendance and certain details from cmis. how is this done? Hi all I have a faulty Sanyo Pro xtrax multiverse projector which is fixed with a ceiling mount (it has double vision). I'm trying to find a replacement for this but i can't find a projector that will fit the bracket or a bracket that will fit the ceiling mount we have. Can anyone help? i hate projectors!!

they do do laptops but they just don't seem to be on their website for some reason and you can custom build them to (internally that is). Which was my next question has anyone had laptops from them and what were they like? MartynShort's feedback isn't to good on the laptop front

I've cut all maps in the scripts. i was just trying to find out if i was doing it right (so far) as i've not done many server removals. I think the problems must be linked with the dns and the fact all the users "my docs" was held on jill and in some cases windows automatically points to jill when clicking save as. I think i've done nearly everything right but it will just take longer than i thought to get rid of all references to these servers as they were used so heavily. Thanks for the help guys you have given me hope i was thinking that next to my lovely new shiney cab would be 2 old horrible looking servers plugged in to it keeping it all together

Not completely sure where this needs to go but seeing as its a windows network i'll start off here. I need some help as i'm stumped. I'm currently replacing servers with newer more powerful servers. In most cases moving many services from a number of old servers to 1 new server (21 old servers ) right to the problem 2 servers, 1 was named jill and ran the staff and student docs, av and was print server. The other named bill (i didn't name these) was used for wsus and a share repository i.e. program shares, file shares etc. right i've moved all these services to the new servers and all the services work great, nice and fast and more space. The problem comes however when i switch of either bill and jill. When i do this strange things happen. word stalls when trying to open anything, "my computer" stalls, random things such as on my pc when bill is off when i righ click go to new it stalls for like 2 mins before the menu appears! as soon as i turn bill back on it works again. I have moved all services, changed all links i can find to these servers in gp. all the services do run from the new servers. what have i done wrong? have i just missed a step out somewhere? to this point i've only really added servers to a network and not really had to remove any and any i have removed i just switched off and removed with no problems. please help

not sure whether to put this in here or scripts but i think its a windows error rather than the script. I'm trying to add a printer to the room, sounds simple enough right. But i make a new policy group named f9 printer then add the script. If i add the script to the user configuration logon part the policy is filtered out. If i add the script to the computer configuration startup part the policy is in the policy list as loaded but i get no printer on login. Where am i going wrong?! here are the scripts i'm using printui - rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /y /q /n\\fs2\f9-hl2040 rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /in /q /n\\fs2\f9-3600n VB ' Printers.vbs - Windows Logon Script. Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network") objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection "\\fs2\f9-hl2040" objNetwork.AddWindowsPrinterConnection "\\fs2\f9-3600n" I'm obviously not using both scripts at the same time but i've tried both and get the same results. Also if i execute them manually when i log in they both add the printers. thanks

I'm new to my current role as network manger at a school in birmingham, i started in January. At my old place of work we used moodle but here they are using sharepoint and they wish to stick with sharepoint. I am a novice at sharepoint but i'm learning quickly. Anyway to the point. The current vle used has lots of errors and seems to be jumbled up between about 5 servers (a bit of a mess). I would like to start again and make a large working vle for staff, students and parents to use. The question really is where to start. I have the server side set up using 3 new servers, 1 for sql and 2 for web application, a farm setup. I need some advice of where to start really and well what i can do with sharepoint. I've seen some very impressive vle's using sharepoint while researching and i want our vle to be as good as them. I've found the useful links page which is very very helpful but i'm after personal advice from people who have been at the same point i am now and ended up with a good working vle. What approach did you take? Did you use software that helped along the way? Anything i should know now that would be helpful rather than finding it out later at a point where its to late. Any advice really All replys will be greatly appreciated, Thanks

very useful stuff. Do most people in schools who use sharepoint, design and maintain them themselves manually or do they mostly use a program such as salamander?

Hi all We at holte school in birmingham are using sharepoint for our vle. I am however having trouble with this as where i previously worked 4 weeks ago we used moodle! We have a kind of working vle with sharepoint but i think it can do more than we are using it for. Do anyone know of some free learning websites for this or even better a free website focused at sharepoint use in schools? thanks
