About BB90

  1. I believe I understand where you are coming from and of course would never go against any terms set by the great and powerful Microsoft! Thanks for the advice
  2. We have moved on a lot of our schools to SSO sign on's through an on premise server with Entra AD Connect. All works great however we are interested in setting up password writeback to on-prem from 365 admin. Looking up it seems to require an Microsoft Entra ID P1 license to enable this. My question is, does EVERY user in the tenancy require these licenses in order to get this to work, or can we simply assign 1 license to our global admin account to enable the setting and leave it at that?
  3. Hi all, I lead a small IT team comprising of myself and 4 techncians managing just under 50 schools. I am making it a requirement that all our schools we have global administrator access to have app based MFA setup for access. Currently we have an office mobile receiving SMS codes which we request from our admin staff who are in office during the weekdays which we need to request over teams. I don't find SMS authentication secure and this also limits our access to our portals when attempting to do out of hours work. My ideal setup would be app based authentication that can be shared with all my technicians using a single login. I'm aware MS authenticator can be signed in on multiple devices, however I'm seeing conflicting reports on whether the passcodes actually sync across devices, or whether restoring the accounts saved on another device will de-activate the device the accounts were backed up from. Any one else in a similar position or have suggestions on best practice to work around this?
  4. There are a set of OneDrive ADMX files you can import which allow this. I can't quite remember which version but we have it set under a user config > Polices > Admin Templates > Onedrive > Configure team site to sync automatically. Here we paste the tenant ID URL for the Share. Alongside a SSO policy our users login, OneDrive auto signs in, SharePoint site automatically maps to file explorer.
  5. A few of my schools have expressed interest in contracting with ESS for SIMS Connected to offer them a log in anywhere experience for SIMS. I've seen a lot of negative impressions of it from threads late last year, but are these mostly teething issues from its first release? Has anyone had recent user experience with Connected who can vouch for its current state and whether it is worth the price increase for the school? They have also had the option for SIMS Next gen, which from what I've seen can offer certain parts of Connected but not the full Cloud experience?
