Microsoft SSO login to ChromeOS - was working, now not
Patrick_Exa replied to 3s-gtech's topic in ChromeOS & Cloud Based OS
@mjhardisty Sorry to hear you have had issues with Exa around the Chromebook sign-in via Entra. I have been looking at a ticket that was raised with us in January, which I believe is one of your schools, and I can confirm that we are still investigating the root cause of the problem, which is that Google does not like it when traffic to www.google.com is decrypted, which breaks the communications and results in the sign-in failing. But if we stop decrypting this, then keyword filtering on Google search pages would be redundant. If you would like to discuss this issue further, please feel free to get back in touch with our Helpdesk via email ([email protected]), or you can email me directly ([email protected]) -
@The_IT_Man Thank you for showing an interest in Exa Networks for both connectivity and content filtering. I would just like to confirm that we do offer both IP and user-based filtering for all non-domain/AD devices. We also offer user integration with G Suite, Entra/Azure, as well as the traditional on-site AD. If you would like to discuss the options we have available, please drop me a DM with your details, and I can have one of our account managers contact you, or alternatively drop us a call on 0345 145 1234.

Thank you to @k-strider for working with us. We have been able to identify and resolve the issues they were seeing, and as a result we have made some global changes to the Exa SurfProtect filtering to ensure these applications will works at all of our schools.

@k-strider - Sorry to hear you are having issues with this. We are looking into this at the moment, to identify what we need to allow to get this working with the AD proxy in place. I have also dropped you a PM with some contact information to reach out and let me know which school you are using this software at. Patrick Customer Operations Team Leader

@mavhc - Glad to hear that you've had no reports this week so far. Without going in to the full technical detail, the change was to alter the IP structure we use when taking with the Google servers, allowing us to communicate with Google via IPv6, which we did previously, but in a new format that allows more fluidity in those communications.

Captcha when Exa customers access Google
Patrick_Exa replied to a topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Hi Kieran, Sorry for getting back to you on an old thread, but have you been able to resolve this via Link2ICT yet? If not, please let me know via a PM which school you are from AND i can speak to Link2ICT to assist in resolving this for you. -
Sorry for the delay in responding to this. Exa was notified of the issue on Friday 6th around midday. We had calls from customers, both with and without our SurfProtect filtering, so it is clear that Google had either broken or altered the code they use to trigger the Captcha screen. Either way, we had our in house development team investigate and we were able to fully test and deploy a fix for this to our SurfProtect platform by 5:15pm the same day. If you are still experiencing the problem, please drop me a reply, or call the Helpdesk on 0345 145 1234 and the team will be more than happy to investigate.

@Alis_Klar - I have read through the post thread and there may be some options we can suggest for you to achieve the end goal you are looking for. If you would like to discuss these, just drop me a direct message with yours details and the school you work at I will get in touch.
